South Sea Cruises - For lots of fun under the sun, you can’t beat a day at South Sea Island. A day trip to South Sea Island is an easy 30 minute ferry ride from Denarau Marina with South Sea Cruises.
It may be small in size, but there is plenty to keep you entertained. The hardest part is choosing what to do first! There is a salt water swimming pool and FREE use of non-motorized water sports equipment, including kayaking and sailing. Discover the underwater world with hours of snorkelling or if you want to stay dry, jump on board the semi-submersible coral viewer. Make sure you keep an eye out for Nemo!
A tasty BBQ buffet lunch and beer, wine and soft drinks are included while ashore.
Although the island is uninhabited, you can still get a taste of Fijian culture with a traditional Meke performance and craft market Monday to Saturday.
Introductory diving (additional cost) is a particular focus on this island with pretty reef formations and plentiful fish making it a first time diver’s dream. Start in the pool and then explore the stunning coral gardens and the fish life surrounding the island on a ‘Discover Scuba’ intro dive. There is also plenty to keep certified divers amused, with several beach dives and a purposefully sunk shipwreck. Diving in this area you can encounter drop offs and wall dives with lots of hard corals, crystal clear water & large schools of pelagic fish.

For a thrilling day in the sunshine, South Sea Island is your unbeatable choice. Just a convenient 30-minute ferry journey from Port Denarau. Despite its modest size, the island is packed with exciting activities. Deciding where to start is the biggest challenge! Facilities include a saltwater pool and complimentary access to non-powered watersports gear such as kayaks and sailboats. You can explore the marine life by snorkelling for hours or take a trip on the semi-submersible coral viewer.
While on the island, enjoy a delicious BBQ buffet lunch, with included beer, wine, and soft drinks.
Though the island itself isn’t populated, you can immerse yourself in Fijian culture with traditional Meke performances and a craft market from Monday to Saturday.
This tour also includes a free kids club and complimentary 30-minute WiFi.
For an extra fee, try diving. This area offers dive sites with precipitous cliffs, wall dives, extensive hard corals, pure waters & vast schools of open-water fish. A memorable experience is assured.
- You must contact South Sea Cruises at least 24 hours before your activity date to confirm your reservation and arrange Transport. Use the contact details on this voucher. Upon check in please present your confirmation or voucher in exchange for your tour boarding pass
- Please be ready and waiting in your hotel lobby or pick up location 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pick up time
- If you do not require pick up, please find your own way to the meeting point - Passenger Terminal, Denarau Marina
- The cruise for Nadi and Denarau area departs Denarau at 9.00am and returns to Denarau at 6.00pm.
- The cruise for Coral Coast area departs at Denarau at 10.00am and returns to Denarau at 5.00pm
- In the event of adverse weather and sea conditions, we retain the right to cancel all water-based activities, including snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and the Subsea Adventure in our semi-submersible.
- Please bring swimsuit, towel, protective clothing from the sun including a hat and sunblock, light jacket or sweater during the cooler months, money or credit card for optional purchases, your camera and sense of fun!

Happy family of 7 on south sea island - The Fijian workers were all fantastic, friendly and funny. The Island is small, which is perfect because last thing I want is to be walking long distances on an island. Facilities are good. Food was great. Activities was awesome. Enjoyed the snorkelling. Was my family first time and was great to see their reaction to the beauty of the sea. Cruise was quick and smooth. Very happy with our day.

Good tour for Island! - It was not good weather, but still we could have lots of fun! Very friendly staff. If you bring children I recommend bring their drinks ( and snacks ) because free for only fizzy drinks otherwise you can buy apple juice etc..at Bar.

The BEST and big THANK YOU to Eddie! - We’ve been several islands and this one is absolutely the BEST so far, great service and well orgnised acitivities, no rush but enjoyed a lot (they arranged 5 times’ snorkling, 4 times fish feeding, scuba coaching, Fiji cultural performance as well as lunch buffet. And We still had about 2 hours’s free time after all of this!). There are lots of benches and other facilites for use, pretty convenence. Besides, the South Sea crew couch and look after the vistors better (than the other islands we explored so far). A big sepcial THANK YOU to Eddie, who not only coached me and my mum with patience during the snorkling, but also teached me how to swim afterwards, he made our day there. Aslo wanna say THANK YOU to the captain who helped us catch the ship when we almost missed it. In overall, this is the best experience we had in Fiji, highly recommend!

A must-do when in Nadi or if visiting Fiji! - A friend and I went on the full day trip last Saturday, the boat departed Port Denarau at 10am. The cruise in itself, was an amazing experience with perfect sunshine and weather, somehow calming to see the breathtaking turquoise sea swirling around this island paradise with white sandy beaches and swaying palm trees. Greeted by the SS Is staff on the beachfront with a lively arrival experience. Good food spread, plentiful cold drinks to cool down the blazing sunshine. Awesome and attentive water sports staff, thank you for keeping us entertained with your calm & easy-to-follow guidance for snorkeling. I would recommend their water sports team anytime! Went on the submarine tour and it's a must-see for families. Feedback- pls check on the AC unit inside the sub- chamber, wasn't really cooling and a bit warm for the 20pp per viewing. Overall, such a beautiful island paradise worth taking time out to just go and enjoy and rejuvenate. Will definitely visit again!

Delightful in liquid sunshine but…. - Well organized from hotel pick up to island Lots of activities however felt staff were not prepared for the rain and should be since it is the rainy season. Staff were drilling holes into tables to insert umbrellas while we were there!! Strangely just not equipped to handle the rain. And the food was just Ok. Noted that some in our family did the later buffet and it was leftover from earlier sitting and our vegetarian was left with wilted coleslaw n leftover cold noodles
Kudos though for management for having a water filtration system on the island. Saving a lot of plastics from the ocean

Decent experience - This was a decent experience for the money. The lunch buffet was good , and the employees were friendly, I don’t think I overlooked any information on the description , but I really wish it said to bring your reef/water shoes as the ocean and sand are very rocky. This is not the soft smooth beach we dream of lol. If you are taking kids, please please
Please take your reef/water shoes. The amount of kids I witnessed crying or whining about how their feet hurt walking on the beach was insane. I feel like our experience would’ve been different. And also, a full day was a bit much.

Pick another island - Spending time on a windy island with little to do but swim and lie by the pool/ beach. Would have been better staying at the resort where I could have done that for a lot less.

Wouldn't suggest if you are indian looking (staffs are recist) - Very poorly organised. Really hard for new visitors as there is no guide with activities and drop off/pick up locations or timetables. Also found the staffs are resist, if you are indian looking.
