Cathy's Birthday - Our second day in Fiji and we took a 2 hour boat ride to Kuata island with stop off at various Island resorts for passenger transfers. We arrived at Batefoot Kuata where no shoes or footwear are worn. Lovely secluded spot with 3 small swimming, toilets and change room There are bungalows for overnight stay. The lunch was excellent, and water was crystal clear and 31oC absolutely beautiful

Beautiful - Wonderful experience both on board the transfer boat and at island. The island is beautiful and the people kind! We arrived and were greeted warmly and explained what was on offer for our day trip. We did not opt to do the shark snorkeling but instead walked along the beautiful beach and did our own snorkeling. The views and water was unparalleled to anything we had ever seen. Stunning! The facilities are limited and the pools tiny, but the lunch was delicious and staff friendly. A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the beach!

Unforgettable experience - Visiting one of the islands in Fiji is expensive. As we base ourselves in Nadi, we book some day trips to the island. The trip is arranged through our resort hotel in Nadi. The cost price for one day cruise to Barefoot Kuata is 335 FJD, about 139 Euro per person, and certainly worth it. What's included in the price: the ferry ticket, lunch, snorkeling with sharks, and use of the resort facilities. For one-day snorkeling, were allocated to seat in the captain lounge. So, it's pretty good organized. The journey to Barefoot Kuata takes two hours. Bare in mind: on the last part of the boat ride can be very rough because of the sea current. Many of the boat passengers get seasick. But the crew of South Sea was very attentive and helping everyone onboard. We were drop off in the sea and transferred in a small boat. It such a terrible weather during our trip, despite everything, we have a good welcome in the resort. We got the explanation of what's in the planning. Afterward, we were guided to the dive center where we prepared stuff for the snorkeling activity. A small boat took us on a spot where we snorkel. It takes 20 minutes normally, but because of the bad weather it took us 40 minutes and it was a horrible trip, I didn't want to think about that. My most unusual experience that day, that we're able to snorkeling where the sharks around. We have 45 minutes underwater which was so amazing, the encounter with the sharks. And then we return to the resort, and when we arrived the lunch buffet was served. The remaining hours were free. There is a swimming pool or snorkeling at the beach, but the sea current is no good, we just chill out

Amazing! - Amazing coral colors on the leeward side of the resort beach. Would like to see more garbage cans to encourage people to stop littering and a place to put the washed plastics/ garbage when we see/ find it.

Being in a lovely grand hotel on... -
Being in a lovely grand hotel on Denerau Island Shearton was very nice but the best part of any Fiji experieince is to get ot to the outer islands where the water is crystal clear and time just seems to slow down a notch or two. I was aday tripper to Barefoot Kuata, 2hours from Port Denerau. Snorkellig gear, lunch and sunshine all included in the fee. Watch the extras as they can quickly mount up. Napolean and the team sung us ashore, and looked after us in the way only Fijians can. This was my first and only Fiji experience so far, so will be looking forward to exploring more of the Yasawas and for longer on Barefoot Kuata.

South Sea Cruises is just a transfer service - South Sea Cruises don't do anything except provide a ferry to Barefoot Kuata. The whole experience is provided by the staff of Barefoot Kuata and they are fabulous. The staff were average at best. The person on the counter couldn't understand that I cancelled my booking with Viator and booked through Expedia even though I gave him my Expedia details and never paid anything through Viator and it showed up as cancelled. We wanted to upgrade to the Capitans Lounge but were told at the counter to ask when boarding. When we asked we were sent down stairs to the booking lady who told us to go back up stairs to the boarding lady. In the end we didn't get anyone to help us and honestly the Capitans lounge isn't that different to downstairs and not worth the upgrade. The transfer is comfortable but nothing special.
