There are also some interesting shrines, so we will introduce those as well. - Yanagimori Shrine - The shrine was also the setting for an anime called Steins; Gate. This shrine worships a very rare tanuki. Although tanuki is an animal, in Japanese it is the same Japanese word for “overtaking others. Therefore, people who want to succeed in something secretly come to this shrine. Although it is not a large shrine located in the middle of a group of buildings, you will feel the sacred atmosphere when you enter this space. - Kotobukiya Akihabara - Take a look at the latest anime merchandise in Akihabara here! You can find all kinds of goods from plastic models to figures and keychains. - Super Potato Akihabara - Retro games are already out of production and finding them is very difficult. But this Super Potato is a store that deals only with retro games, and you will feel like a kid again when you see a lot of NES, SNES, and PS1 game softwares. The store is divided into 3 floors: 3F is mainly for Nintendo, 4F is mainly for PS, and 5F is the arcade section for retro games. Also on the 5th floor, you can buy DAGASHI (cheap snacks that Japanese kids eat), which is unique to Japan. - Akihabara Gigo - Japanese arcade culture is unique to Japan, with UFO catchers (craw clanes), fighting games, music games, quiz games, purikura (photo booths where you can process photos taken on the spot into stickers), racing games, and shooting games. It is exciting and captivating, so much so that you will lose track of time. On the 6th floor of GIGO, you will find a retro arcade, which is probably the only place in Japan where you can play so many old machines. You can feel the history of Japanese arcades in this place, and you will be fascinated by the world of dot-pictures. - Ikebukuro - We drive from Akihabara to Ikebukuro - Ikebukuro - Ikebukuro has many anime stores specializing in women’s products. There is also a Pokemon Center and the Tokyo Anime Museum. I think you can enjoy a variety of things. - Animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store - The most famous anime store in Japan is Animate. Its main store is located in Ikebukuro. You can buy all kinds of anime goods here. Find what you want here. - Otome Road - Otome Road is lined with stores for Japanese female otaku. If you want to buy anime goods featuring male characters, this is the place to go. If you are a female customer, you will love this place. - Pokemon Mega Center Tokyo - One of the most famous games in Japan is probably Pokemon. This is the place to find only Pokemon merchandise. You may also buy some souvenirs. - Nakano - In Nakano, there is a building called Nakano Broadway that contains many anime goods. There are many retro anime goods, so if you are looking for old anime goods, this is the place to go! There are many small stores gathered here, so you can stroll through the anime goods as if you are on an adventure. - Nakano - We drive from Ikebukuro to Nakano. - Nakano Broadway - Nakano Broway is the place to go for retro Japanese anime goods. Many old toys that are far removed from this era are lying around. If Akihabara is for the newest and Ikebukuro is for women, this is the town of retro anime. If you like old anime, you will find this place to be a paradise. But be careful not to buy too much, as the prices are not cheap.
