Great guide, interesting tour - Alita is an excellent guide. She gave us a very interesting summary of the history of Goa which got us the necessary background for the tour . She took the time and was very pleasant. Her English is excellent and easily understood . The mansions we visited are in different states and bring an interesting testimony of the portuguese presence and influence.

Lovely morning in Chandor - We did the Chandor Trail walk with Alita - right from the get-go she was SUPER engaged in the history and the cultural nuances of not only where we were standing, but sharing broader context of how it had evolved across multiple dynasties over 2000+ years. It was really stunning to see the MASSIVE Portuguese mansions and their history - their present owners very kindly walking us through their homes. And Chandor is a little bit of Goa lost in time..there are pockets that seem like they haven't changed in 100's of years. Definitely worth it. Thanks Alita & Team MakeItHappen!

Chandor Walking Tour - Loved this tour! I’m from Goa but I did not know much about Chandor and its history. I learnt so much, this is a knowledge heavy history tour! Pawan was insightful and passionate about the storytelling, which adds a lot to the narrative. One suggestion for anyone taking this tour, bring enough water and a couple snacks to keep yourself energised for 2.5-3.5 hours. Even though the tour is 2.5 hours, conversations with one of the hosts stretched our tour to 3.5 hours. It was great to be able to speak at length with the descendants of the heritage homes, especially since I am a history lover. Overall, an insightful and knowledgeable experience.

A taste of Fontainhas - Alita was a wonderful guide explaining in detail rich history of Goa. We made a stop at the Confeitaria where I got to try different Goan foods. And we finished off with a performance of a local musician. Highly recommend!

Pre-Portuguese arrival splendor! - I took this tour with Pawan and it was wonderful. It was great to hear and see the history before the Portuguese arrived in Goa. I also loved the story of local legends and the Hindu God Shiva. The houses were amazing and the owners were so friendly and proud to share their heritage.
