The Thrill of the Journey

The adventure began in the early hours of the morning, as my fellow thrill-seekers and I were picked up from Cebu City at the crack of dawn. The anticipation was palpable as we embarked on a three-hour drive to Moalboal, a renowned snorkeling spot. Despite the aftermath of a recent typhoon, which left the waters a bit murky, the sight of sea turtles and the mesmerizing dance of sardine schools was a spectacle to behold. It was a reminder that nature, in all its unpredictability, still holds wonders that can take your breath away.

As we continued our journey, the excitement only grew. The road to Kawasan Falls was an adventure in itself, with lush greenery and the promise of adrenaline-pumping activities awaiting us. The camaraderie among our group was infectious, each of us eager to push our limits and embrace the challenges ahead.

Conquering Kawasan Falls

Arriving at Kawasan Falls, the real adventure began. We had the option to zip line to the start of the canyon, but the allure of the scenic walking trail was too tempting to resist. The 20-minute trek was a feast for the senses, with the sound of cascading water and the vibrant colors of the subtropical forest surrounding us.

Our guides were exceptional, each assigned to ensure our safety and capture the moments that would soon become cherished memories. As a former extreme sports athlete, I’ve faced many challenges, but the thrill of canyoning at Kawasan Falls was unparalleled. The jumps varied in height, offering a choice for every level of daredevil. I opted for the highest leap, a heart-stopping 9 meters, plunging into the crystal-clear waters below. The rush of adrenaline was intoxicating, a reminder of why I seek out these adventures time and again.

A Feast for the Senses

After the exhilarating experience of canyoning, we gathered for a well-deserved lunch at the only restaurant overlooking the second waterfall. The local cuisine was a delightful surprise, hearty and flavorful, providing the perfect respite as we recounted our daring feats.

The journey back to Cebu City was filled with laughter and shared stories, each of us basking in the afterglow of an unforgettable day. The guides and drivers, with their humor and warmth, added to the experience, making it more than just an adventure but a connection with the people and the land.
