Great Day out - Thoroughly enjoyed day. Guide was good and we did a lot. Was a little rushed at Coba for those walking around but we used tricycle and saw all we wanted. Loved the swim in the cenote and cave.

10 out of 10 Trip. Just beautiful. - Wow that was one of the best day trips I have ever had. Our guide Rodigo was amazing and really took time to explain the history, culture and customs of the Mayans. Also swimming in the Cenote and going through the caves was like having our own private Cenote as we were a small group of 10 people amd nobosy else was there. I highly recommend this trip.

Incredible cenote, great ruins - Another long day with long chunks of time in a van. Tulum was okay. I think we expected a little bit more, but the ruins were still pretty. The view of the ocean/coast was very beautiful, and the ruins were crawling with iguanas and reptiles (literally had to step over a few that were blocking the path). Marcela was a very high energy, fun guide, but it was difficult to hear her at some points of the tour. I appreciated that she always gave us the allotted time to explore on our own so we never felt rushed or like our time was being cut short. Coba was incredible. I highly, highly recommend renting a bike (or a trike if you’d rather be carted around). You will not get to see everything unless you do. They recently added new wooden steps to the ruin of Coba, and we were allowed to climb up to the top in groups of 20 max. The steps were uneven and far apart, which made the climb a little difficult for someone on the shorter side, but again the views were worth it. We also biked to the other side of the site, which was very secluded, but very worth it. We saw monkeys swinging through the trees, multiple ocellated turkeys, and even more iguanas. We were quite hungry at that point so we bought some ice cream and enjoyed a fresh coconut. The buffet was good, and we were able to eat before we went to the cenote, which I appreciated. The cenote was INCREDIBLE. We got to explore some caves, saw so many stalagmites and stalactites, and got to see lots of cute little bats on the cave ceiling! The water was refreshing after a long day outside biking and climbing and walking. Bring a towel, a change of clothes, swimsuit, water shoes for the cenote, water/water bottle, sunscreen, sun protection, and cash for tips/souvenirs. A long day but overall another great way to knock out a lot of things in one day.

Excellent Tour! - Frank and Raciel were excellent guides on this tour. The cenote swim was definitely the highlight of the trip and something I will not forget.

Worth the money and time - top tier experience! - This was SO worth the money and time. Both Tulum and Coba were amazing (make sure you bring $5 for each person for the bikes at Coba!), our guide Juam (yes, I spelled that correctly) and our driver Eric were amazing. We felt safe and taken care of the whole time, the cenote was beyond belief, and the lunch buffet was the food we've been missing our whole trip down here. You can rent a locker ($3 at the time) at the cenote, but we did not. The chocolate and tequila tastings were also quite good. Also so many iguanas! Just don't be like us and forget cash. Tips are important, and not just for the tour guide and driver! We had 10 people in our car and we became friends with everyone!

Great time, no tastings - Absolutely a great time! Starting in Tulum, where we were staying, we didn't get to experience any tastings, though I think if we included time in Playa de Carmen we might have.

Best Excursion Ever - I have traveled a lot and done a lot of excursions and this was by far the best. Our guide was extremely knowledgable, fun, and empathetic to my fear of heights - but I conquered that!!! I especially like the cenote and special lunch. I would recommend packing protein bars or snacks as it is a long day and the climbing of Hoba will take it out of you. Highly highly recommend this excursion. It’s the best!!

Wish Omar was our guide. - Long day being the first to be picked up, and the guide showing up 15 minutes late. The sites were interesting, but having signed up for a tour in English, the bilingual experience was tough to follow. Also, the "tastings" ended up being "a tasting" at our first stop, which consisted of one cacao bean. Our excursion the previous year was entirely in English, and the guide was far more knowledgeable than this one about the sites we visited. (The reason we chose Amigo a second time) Nice guy, but needs more practice in his language skills and history.

A total disaster. Avoid Amigo Tours if you actually want to enjoy your vacation. - I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience with Amigo Tours was incredibly disappointing. Save your money and book with someone else. Here is why: • Massive Time Waste: We spent 3 hours just picking up other passengers. The actual tour didn’t start until 10:00 AM, wasting the best part of the day. • Rushed Itinerary: We were only at Tulum for 40 minutes total. The guide spoke for 10 minutes, leaving us with a pathetic 15 minutes of free time. You can’t see anything in that timeframe. • Dishonest Pricing: Despite the booking stating life jackets were included, the guide refused to honor it and demanded extra payment with a very arrogant attitude. • Hidden Fees & Tech Issues: They sent the link for site fees the night before the tour, but it didn't work. I had to chase them on WhatsApp to get a functional link, only to find a hidden $3 USD fee per person. • Poor Value: This tour is more expensive than competitors, yet the service is inferior. Between the "hidden" costs and the massive time cost of sitting in a van, it is absolutely not worth it.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Misleading Itinerary, Poor Organisation, and Missing Paid Activities - Extremely Disappointing Experience – Misleading Itinerary, Poor Organisation, and Missing Paid Activities We booked the “Tulum & Coba with Cenote, Cave Exploration, Lunch & Tastings” tour expecting a well-organised experience similar to our previous excellent day with Amigo Tours. Unfortunately, this tour turned out to be extremely disappointing and felt very misleading. Firstly, the confirmed hotel pickup time was changed from 05:00 to 07:20, and even then the bus arrived around 15 minutes late. After only a few minutes we were told to change buses and were taken to a jet ski centre where there was no clear communication. The guide spoke almost entirely in Spanish, with only fragmented English explanations, leaving many of us confused about what was happening. We waited nearly an hour for another bus and only left Cancun just before 09:00 — a time when we should already have been in Tulum according to the original schedule. Because of these delays, the time at both archaeological sites was drastically reduced. We had barely an hour in Tulum and even less time in Coba, which felt rushed and disappointing considering this was the main reason we booked the tour. The chocolate and tequila tastings included in the package never happened. No one informed us that they were cancelled, and we waited until the last moment expecting them to take place. Lunch was at a remote location — the buffet food itself was simple but enjoyable — however, afterwards we were unexpectedly subjected to a so-called “saman ceremony”. During this, the guide suddenly presented himself as a healer and began massaging another passenger in front of the group, which felt extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. We were then taken individually into a room and strongly pressured to purchase expensive ornaments costing over £100, which felt like a sales trap rather than part of a cultural experience. The most serious issue was the cenote visit. We paid specifically for Cenote Nohoc and the guided cave swimming experience, including lockers and life vest rental. Instead, we were taken to a completely different free cenote location. There were no lockers available, and we were asked to pay again for life vests despite them being included in the booking. After an already exhausting 12-hour day, we were forced into an additional stop in Playa del Carmen for nightlife. While the location itself was nice, by that point most of us simply wanted to return to our hotels — especially since the tastings we had paid for were skipped earlier. Finally, although the tour was advertised as operated by Amigo Tours (who delivered a fantastic experience for us the day before), this tour was actually subcontracted to BK Mayam, and the difference in organisation and professionalism was extremely noticeable. Overall, this experience felt disorganised, misleading, and far below expectations. Several paid elements were not delivered, the itinerary was significantly altered without clear communication, and parts of the day felt more like a high-pressure sales event than a cultural tour. We would not recommend this specific tour in its current form and hope the company reviews its subcontracting standards and customer communication moving forward.
