Great first experience - First time ever trying diving and was nervous to get it all right. Manuel was amazing. He was encouraging and patient. I felt 100% safe. Thanks for taking such great care of me :-) He also assisted my brother in becoming certified. He was very knowledgeable and had so many good tips from his years of experience

Great introduction for us beginners - We had a great time, saw a small eel, a sand shark, lobsters, three barracuda, lots of fish, and jet black sea urchin.
The lesson was quick and the boat ride out was smooth.
We felt they were very no-nonsense. No extra camera thing, just the lesson and the dives (X2).
It was a little annoying to have to wait 1.5 hours after the lesson to go to the dive, but perhaps there's some good reason for the buffer. We were a small group after all.
Notes: They will offer to rent you a wetsuit, and you will need to pay for the pool access for the initial lesson. No extra fees beyond that.
The pool is cold but the ocean is warm!
Couldn't ask for better for us beginners.

Safety First-Fantastic - There is a lot of emphasis on safety. The training in the pool is excellent and there is no rush until you can get the proper skills

Beautiful experience for those who love the sea - Suitable and safe experience even for those who have never done diving. A mini course is done at the beginning to learn the basics and then a short test lesson in the pool. And during diving you are always supervised by the instructor. The water is beautiful, warm and both the MUSA and the coral reef are really magnificent and with different varieties of fish. We recommend it! Special thanks to Ulysses (our instructor, very nice and helpful) and Ricardo (the skipper, super nice)!

Best Dive Team for 1st Time Divers! - The team at Coconut Divers was great! This whole experience is fantastic. They took so much time and care to make sure we felt safe and confident before the dive. The reef and the museum were both so beautiful. It was a really special time. I brought my aunts with me, and they were kind and patient with them and made sure they had fun, too!! Coming back to them!

Perfectly Average. Friendly Staff. - Thanks to Ulysses, Karin, and Ricardo for a nice reef dive despite the winter monsoon. I'll be back in summertime with, hopefully, more sun and fishes.
Overall: a fine, low rent diving shop which safely led 11 uncertified divers to explore a reef and MUSA at <8m. The boat ride was cold, wet and rough. I'll try another shop next time, but would consider returning here, too.
With a 1000 arrival time, we started the intro video at 1050 after waiting for everyone to arrive and get fitted for gear.
The pool skills practice was thorough, but the pool was cold.
After the pool practice, everyone waited around with nothing to do for about 30 mins.
Next time I'd prefer an actual schedule or pre-agreed lunch break so we could leave and grab a bite.

Not for 1st time Scuba Divers! - Its not for 1st time scuba divers!!! you get less than 10 mins in the pool for practicing scuba gears and less than 10 mins which they call in class training. Highly disappointed as I got a group to do this excursion and they it ruined their experience dur less to none enough information

unfair denial of the refund request - We are deeply disappointed by the rejection of our refund request caused by Coconut Divers. Here are the facts:
On December 23, 2024, while we were boarding our flight to Cancun, Alex from Coconut Divers contacted us via call and text, requesting a change in the check-in time from 10:00 AM to 8:00 AM on December 24, 2024. Although this was an inconvenience, we agreed to accommodate the change but made it clear that one member of our five-person group would have to miss the event due to the revised schedule. Coconut Divers acknowledged this and agreed to adjust the participation to four people.
The following day, we paid an additional equipment fee at the dive center for four participants and proceeded to enjoy the scuba diving experience. After returning to New York, we submitted a partial refund request of $109 through the Viator website, as only four adults participated due to the time change initiated by Coconut Divers. To our surprise and frustration, the refund request was denied.
Given that the reduction in participants was solely due to Coconut Divers' last-minute scheduling change, we strongly believe the denial of the refund is unfair. We kindly request that this decision be reconsidered and the refund be issued promptly.
