Price Is Deceptive - While the trip itself was very good, with a really great crew that cared about your safety, a beautiful, clean ship and plentiful drinks, and a decent lunch, I do want to warn folks that this trip is deceptively priced. When I booked it, I thought that the price of $70 for two people seemed unusually low. And it was! Because when we got to the dock, we were informed that we owed an additional $90 for dock fees! We obviously had to pay it or we wouldn't have been allowed on the ship. Bottom line, this trip actually costs $160 for two people, so don't be fooled by the cheap Viator price.

Horrible Cancun catamaran tour!!! - 1st when we booked the tour we were told that there would be a per person $20 port fee. When we explained to the female at the port that Expedia’s tour info said that there was a $20 port fee she did not want to listen and said the port fees was $48 per person. On the way to Isla Mujeres the sea was rough and after they started handing out the drinks they quickly said that there would be no snorkeling due the rough water. Once we arrived on isla Mujeres we went to the restaurant for the buffet and while everyone eating the tour host and captain told us that the port was being closed duet o the rough seas and we had to had back. It seemed odd that once we were given drinks and food suddenly the port was being closed down and we had to leave. When people started to complain and were asking for a refund they started to record with their cell phones while they claimed that it was the port master and not them making the decision to close the port. The caption and his crew then asked how many of us wanted to stay and who wanted to leave. The captain and his crew could not make a decisions and it seemed they wanted us to make it so they could say that it was our choice and not them and if indeed the port was being closed why would they give us an option to stay or leave. Once we left the captain took his time leaving the port which seemed odd because if it was that dangerous he would have left faster so that he got us back in time before it go worse. The trip back was very calm and it seemed to all of us that the crew took the opportunity to use the weather as reason to cut the tour short. The trip was a waste of time and cost us our money and they said it wasn’t there problem and for us to complain to the company who we bought the tour from. The company Blue Star Catamaran is terrible and if you’re looking to purchase a tour in Cancun DO NOT use them unless you want to get scammed. There were approx 30-40 people on the tour and all were told they had to pay the $48 for the port fee and some paid more for the tour that never happened. Last the food was horrible and most of us could not eat it.
