The Cancun Mayan Museum boasts one of the world’s most meaningful collections of artefacts from the Mayan culture.

The Cancun Connect - A beautiful museum filled with incredible artifacts of the 3 historical periods of Mayan civilization. The museum needs to add a bookstore and coffee shop to allow visitors to relax in comfort.

Quick, but worth it! - Aside from a little miscommunication at the ticket window about our online tickets, everything about this museum is pretty cool. The self guided tour through the museum takes you through some basic Meso-American history and displays some really beautiful artifacts that were found around the Yucatan. They allow photos and the staff is pretty friendly. When you're done with the artifacts, there is a small art exhibition from local artists. After that, you get to take a stroll through San Miguelito. It's a small Mayan archaeological site that comes complete with plenty of ruins and it's own pyramid. Pro Tip: Get there early! Preferably when they open. The musem itself is small and I cannot imagine being in that space with 100 other tourists. We arrived right as they opened and met only 3-4 other small groups as we explored. Pro Tip 2: There are iguanas, birds, insects of all varieties and mosquitoes in San Miguelito. It certainly added to the experience in a fun way, BUT BRING INSECT REPELLENT. It took us about five minutes in the "jungle" around the ruins before I became a buffet for mosquitoes. Luckily my wife has an endless supply of items in her bag and we had bug spray.

Just okay - Not as extensive as we'd hoped. Exhibits were redundant. But very informative nevertheless. Art exhibit was so-so. Not my thing

A lovely, informative musem - The museum was very well done, excellent in fact. There was a particularly interesting video on Tulum which we then visited the next day. No need for tickets in advance, however, there were very few people at the museum. It did close at 4 so recommending that we arrive a couple of hours earlier was a good thing. The ruins in the grounds were also a good introduction to the Mayan world. But, supposedly our tickets, with a QR code, were to be sent to us a couple of days earlier. We never got them. After a couple of emails and a phone call, the tickets were finally sent to us about 1/2 hour before we were going to the museum. Very annoying.

tickets are very expensive. You can get your ticket half of the price in the museum - Please , get your tickets at the museum, this tour is overpriced. I got my tickets for 10 USD to skip the line , and when I got there, the ticket cost was 5 USD and there was not line at all. way overpriced.
