A Splashing Start to Our Day

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for destinations that promise fun and excitement for the whole family. So when I heard about Perth’s Outback Splash in Bullsbrook, I knew it was a must-visit. Just a short 30-minute drive from Perth, the journey was smooth and filled with anticipation. The kids were buzzing with excitement as we approached the park, their eyes lighting up at the sight of the vibrant colors and the promise of adventure.

We arrived early, which gave us the perfect opportunity to explore the lush parklands. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with native Australian flora providing a picturesque backdrop for a family picnic. But the real star of the morning was the Giant Jumping Pillow. Covering over 220 square meters, it was an instant hit with the kids—and I must admit, I couldn’t resist joining in the fun! The laughter and joy were infectious, and it was the perfect way to kick off our day.

Water Fun for Everyone

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the waterslide playground. Currently, in the first stage of a six-stage master plan, the playground stands over three stories high and offers a variety of slides and water features. The family slide was a particular favorite, allowing us all to slide down together. For those seeking a bit more speed, grabbing a mat made the experience even more thrilling. The kids couldn’t get enough of the yellow slide, returning to it time and again.

What I loved most about the water attractions was the variety. From toddler-friendly slides to a 1000-liter tipping bucket and interactive water cannons, there was something for everyone. And when the kids needed a break from the water, the maze provided a fun and challenging diversion. We got delightfully lost in the labyrinth of wooden panels, and the hot sun made the return to the refreshing slides all the more welcome.

A Day to Remember

One of the things I appreciate most about Perth’s Outback Splash is the flexibility it offers families. While the on-site café can be a bit pricey, the park allows visitors to bring their own food, making it easy to plan a budget-friendly day out. We packed a picnic and enjoyed a leisurely lunch under the shade of the trees, recharging before diving back into the fun.

The park’s location and theme make it a unique and iconic Australian attraction. It’s not just a draw for tourists; it’s a beloved destination for Perth residents as well. With plans for expansion, I can only imagine how incredible it will be once all six stages are complete. For now, it’s a fantastic way to beat the summer heat and create lasting family memories. Our day at Perth’s Outback Splash was filled with laughter, adventure, and bonding—everything I look for in a family outing. I can’t wait to return and see what new surprises await!
