Splashing into Fun

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for destinations that promise a day full of laughter, excitement, and bonding. So when I heard about Perth’s Outback Splash in Bullsbrook, I knew it was a must-visit for our family. Just a short drive from Perth’s CBD, this water park is a haven for families seeking a mix of thrill and relaxation.

Upon arrival, the vibrant atmosphere immediately set the tone for the day. The kids, aged 3 and 5, were instantly drawn to Splash Island, a three-storey waterslide playground that seemed to be calling their names. The giant tipping bucket was a hit, and I couldn’t help but join in the fun. The laughter and squeals of delight from the kids were infectious, and I found myself racing them down the slides, feeling like a kid again.

For the younger ones, Octopus Bay was a paradise. With its shaded splash pool and mini slides, it was the perfect spot for our little adventurers. The park’s attention to detail and safety was evident, with lifeguards vigilantly watching over the water attractions. It was reassuring to know that while we were having fun, safety was a top priority.

Exploring Beyond the Water

While the water attractions were the main draw, the park had so much more to offer. We took a leisurely stroll through the lush gardens, where native birds serenaded us, and we even spotted some sleepy koalas up close. It was a serene escape from the bustling water park, and the kids were fascinated by the wildlife.

The Jumping Pillow was another highlight, providing endless entertainment for the kids. They bounced around with boundless energy, and I couldn’t resist joining them for a few jumps. The mazes were a delightful challenge, and we found ourselves getting lost in laughter as we tried to navigate our way through.

The park’s thoughtful design extended to its play areas, with a swing set, nature-play equipment, and even a giant Connect-4 game. It was clear that a lot of care and creativity had gone into making this a family-friendly destination. The mini-golf course was a hit with everyone, offering a fun and competitive way to round off our day.

Relaxation and Refueling

After a morning of non-stop action, we took a break to relax and refuel. The park offers plenty of shaded areas with sun lounges, perfect for a picnic or just unwinding. We had brought our own food, but the on-site café looked inviting, with a menu that seemed reasonably priced for a day out.

For those planning a longer stay, the park offers BBQ facilities and party pavilions for hire, making it an ideal spot for celebrations or gatherings. The large grassed areas provided ample space for the kids to run around, and the upbeat music playing throughout the park added to the lively atmosphere.

As the day came to an end, we left with two very tired but happy kids, who fell asleep as soon as we hit the road. It was a testament to the fun-filled day we had at Perth’s Outback Splash. With plans for expansion, I can’t wait to see what new adventures await on our next visit.
