Excellent Shopping Trip - As always an excellent trip to the flea market. Miklos is a great guide and knows how to find and get the best deals. Make sure to go on Saturday because that is when the most vendors are there as well as a smaller market outside the main one. Other days of the week are not really worth it. OH! and you get to taste the best langos in town!

Ecseri Flea Market_Go There, But Only With A Guide - Our guide was from Fungarian. He was a Hungarian native who spoke fluent English (and several other languages). He met us at our hotel at 9:00am and we took public transportation there. It was 2 trams and 1 bus, so it was VERY handy to be going with someone who knew the route. We decided to go on a Saturday, as that is usually the best day. This was not just a trip to the flea market. On the way to the flea market, our guide told us a lot about the landmarks we were passing. He pointed out things that he thought would be of interest to us (like the vending machine with new, pocket sized books for 1000HUF ($3.57) and stopped to buy some small Hungarian pastries for us to try. At the flea market, our guide was indispensable! He knew the the layout and where we were most likely to find what we were interested it, told us the historical significance of many items, and bargained with the vendors when we were interested in items. After shopping, our guide bought us langos and a drink. We had a great time, didn't get lost, found some fun Hungarian items, and had a knowledgeable guide through it all. Highly recommend this tour with this guide if you like flea markets, old stuff, and learning about the country and culture through seeing items from the past and present.

Great, fun experience and a wonderful way to experience a bit of the "real" Budapest - My wife and I were lucky enough to do the Flea Market tour with Fungarian when we were in Budapest in early December. In every way, it was a wonderful day. Our guide (Stephan, we are pretty sure) was energetic, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He gave us a running explanation on the trip to and from the Flea Market and went out of his way to be sure we did what WE wanted to do. Had great discussions about history, culture and yes, even a little politics. We enjoyed every bit of it and even found some great "treasures" to take home with us. In short, we recommend the Fungarian experience VERY highly. At the end of the day, we felt we knew and appreciated so much more about Budapest than we could ever have gotten on our own. If you are going to be in Budapest, DO THIS. You will be really glad you did.

Not worth going on a Thursday as there are too few vendors. My guide was wonderful. - My guide Barnas Kovecs made it fun. There are hardly any vendors on Thursday and the ones that do come are after 11:00 AM. A bit disappointed given the cost.
