Very good experience - lovely staff and good interaction - It was good - possibly v good. The interaction was great for us all and I’d recommend buying a combined ticket if you are planning the Belfort Tower also as you’d save money. We ended up in the beer hall afterwards which opens onto a terrace over the main square. It was lovely and the staff were very friendly.

Good fun - Good fun for all ages. There are quite a few stairs so if that’s a concern be prepared. We enjoyed it and it was out of the rain so plan B worked out well

It was ok but its expensive - A day trip to Bruges and sadly the weather hadn't been kind so sought sanctuary in Historium to escape the rain. Given we were there in December to see the Christmas market it was very busy and many other had the same idea to do something inside. The attraction provides an insight into the history of Bruges through a 10minute VR experience which was good and then a guided walk through an interactive show where a group of you move from room to room in unison. It's cleverly done and was interesting (although I still don't understand why they needed the nude bathing !) but at 25 euros per person we didn't think it was great value for money.

VR was ok, rest was cheesy - The VR portion was different and pretty well done, but the story telling rooms were really cheesy, guess they had to throw in the nude bathing scenes to jazz it up. The best part was the patio after the story, it was a great place for a photo/video of the Bruges market.

Avoid! - It is a waste of time and money. We did not learn anything , they forced in a silly love story which just didn't blend well with the theme. Just 7 rooms and cost us more than 100 Euros for 4 people.

Has potential but would not recommend. - My partner and I, both early 30s, really enjoy learning about the historical background of the country we are visiting, and, from their website, felt that a trip to the Historium would be a good way to do this during our weekend in Bruges. We were SO very wrong. We each got a ticket for the story and 'exhibition', which turned out to be extortionate for the experience we had. We walked through a series of rooms with an audioguide (some warning RE: the claustrophobia-triggering nature of the experience would have been appreciated) and watched a 'film' scene by scene, which was supposedly a love story set in Bruges. Neither of us, 2 intelligent people, could see any sense in the 'storyline', and it was pretty much unrelated to Bruges! The scenery and set design within the rooms was impressive and well executed but rendered pointless due to the ridiculous film. There was also a chapter in the film depicting a brothel, with accompanying scenery, showing nude female anatomy. We are led to believe through their marketing that part of their target audience is children, so we feel that parents and carers should have the opportunity to make an informed decision about whether or not they feel that exposure to these images and themes is suitable for their child at this time, but there was no evidence of this. The exhibition after was average at best, but we learned more from Wikipedia. We can't really understand who would enjoy this experience- it's not engaging enough for children, nor does it have any substance or educational value for adults! We left feeling very puzzled. Thankfully, we could find the funny side to such a shambles but this didn't remedy how much money we spent on the 2 tickets. Don't be fooled by the eye catching fairy lights hanging off the balcony, either!! I'd strongly recommend that the Historium undertakes some serious remodelling of the service that they are providing- there is potential there, but they need both creative and executive staff who are qualified and know that they're doing because the whole service comes across as incredibly amature. Would like to add that the staff we came across were very friendly and helpful.
