Fun and educational - My family had a terrific time walking through this very clever interactive tour. A few places were a little dark, but my phone flashlight came to the rescue. Keep in mind there are some steps to go up. We skipped the VR headsets, although that looked like fun. The tour ends on a balcony overlooking square. Great views.

Must to do with kids - We were two adults, and really enjoyed this experience. But kids and even teens would really get more out of it. I found the story engaging and the special effects required nice. This is a must to do if you’re with kids and optional if you’re not.

Nice concept - Nice concept! You will be taken into an exciting story and feel like you are back in the Middle Ages. The rooms are decorated as they were at that time and you can even smell scents that apply to the story. Also fun for children. Afterwards you can also visit a small exhibition and take beautiful pictures of the Belfry on the balcony.

Great way to start exploring Brugge - This is a great experience and a good way to get a first feel for the history of Brugge. It provides a nice immersive historical experience of the town which is a great reference for exploring the beautiful city later. Only thing to be improved is that when we first entered the sound was out of sync which caused some confusion but once we managed to get back in sync it was great!

Different way of doing a museum - The museum reminded me somewhat of The Canterbury Tales, the museum in Canterbury, England. It was an interesting way of doing a museum, based on a story, film and built sets. I thought the story itself was somewhat lackluster, but it was a special experience, nevertheless a bit disappointing, although I think that for people who have never visited such a museum, they will be anything but disappointed. The museum area afterwards was clean and beautifully presented, although the displays themselves and interactive elements (except the screens) were very dirty, which is a downside as they are mainly intended for children. The information from some displays was also confusing or repetitive when listening to it with the audio guide. The throne where you can take a photo and the view from the balcony were extremely nice pluses to the entire experience. In terms of staff: the person at the desk was quite curt and not very welcoming, while the person in charge of the audio guide was extremely friendly and approachable. The toilets were neat and the prices of the shop were very over the top for the quality, not recommended as souvenirs.

Learn about the Middle Ages and Guilds - I went with a friend's family. Both adults and children can enjoy it, but if you don't know about Jan van Eyck, you might not enjoy it. At the end, there is a place where you can put on a cloak from that time and take a photo. If you go out to the balcony from there, you can see the wonderful view of the Market Square. Even if you don't know about Jan van Eyck, you can learn about medieval history and the origins of the guilds, so it's a place you'll want to take children to.

Highly disappointing, not as advertised. - The storyline is very weak and not convincing. It’s a soapy love story in medieval times having Bruges in the background. There is nothing about how people lived and worked. The whole experience is far away from the description on their website.

Dumb as a bag of hammers but the view was pretty - A fool and their money are soon parted. Me, I was the fool — I paid €20 to visit Historium, an exhibition of medieval Briges (allegedly) built into a 19th century neo-Baroque building. The centrepiece of Historium is an absolutely brain dead video presentation that purports to tell a story of on of Jan Eyck‘s apprentices. At the end of this stultifying experience that shuffles the viewer through a series of indifferently executed “medieval” dioramas, you reach a small exhibition space and a third-story balcony that looks down on the Grosse Markt, which is actually pretty cool but not worth the time or money of attending Historium. Save yourself €20 — you can read the Wikipedia article on the history of Bruges for free.

Save your Euros. - Unfortunately, there is no option to give zero stars. This was a total waste of money. You stand in 7 rooms and watch a silly movie. We decided not to waste our time in Bruges on this activity and kept moving quickly through the rooms by hitting the red buttons next to the doors to escape this boring attraction. This turned it more into a bit of a haunted house experience because the rooms were dark with the added scary fox and whorehouse experience thrown in for good measure. One of the rooms smelled like urine. We weren’t sure if that was supposed to be part of the experience since we stopped following the audio on the headphones. Either way, it was disgusting. Don’t go!
