Mahabodhi Temple - In the evening, visit the Maha Bodhi Temple Complex, one of India’s oldest brick temples. This UNESCO World Heritage site marks the sacred location where Buddha attained enlightenment and developed his life philosophy, serving as the spiritual center of Bodhgaya.
Next, visit the Bodhi Tree, the most revered tree on Earth, under which Prince Siddhartha, the founder of Buddhism, achieved enlightenment. It is said that Buddha gazed at the tree in awe and gratitude after his enlightenment.
Then, see the Great Buddha Statue, a 25-meter-high Japanese-style statue that stands in a serene garden at the temple’s end. Unveiled by the Dalai Lama in 1989, it is surrounded by 10 smaller sculptures of Buddha’s disciples. The statue is partially hollow and contains approximately 20,000 bronze Buddhas.
Afterward, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Visit Monasteries + Temples + Later Transfer to Airport
Sujata Kuti - Visit Sujata Village, believed to be where Prince Siddhartha was offered a bowl of kheer (rice milk) while resting under a Banyan tree, weak and starved after intense penance. The Prince miraculously recovered after bathing in the river and eating the food. After spending a day in Sal Grove, he sat under a Pipal Tree in the evening, meditated, and attained enlightenment at night.
Gaya International Airport - Later, at a convenient time, transfer to Bodhgaya airport.
