Additional Information

During the 1800s, Bilbao underwent a remarkable phase of industrial growth, resulting in the emergence of two distinct social groups: laborers and financial professionals. Each side of the Ibaizabal River, East and West, experienced unique development patterns.

This journey will guide you to discover the Bizkaia Bridge, a symbol of the region’s iron industry, established in the late 19th century, serving as a connection between the two riverbanks. On the Western side sits the ancient town of Portugalete, characterized by narrow, sloping streets and routes of the Camino de Santiago. On the Eastern bank, you will explore Getxo, with its diverse neighborhoods: ranging from the grandeur of Las Arenas and luxurious palaces of Neguri to the captivating old homes of Algorta’s Old Port and the breathtaking views from the Punta Galea cliffs.

The Ibaizabal River estuary, originating from Bilbao, holds countless mysteries waiting to be unraveled. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore them all!

Amazing structure and engineering - We arrived here on a cruise ship and walked over from the port to experience this iconic structure. For a Euro we were able to walk on to the Gondola. To the other side of the river and then return. It is an amazingly efficient operation. It is possible to take an elevator up to the top for splendid views.

Ask the prices before you go up so you don't get caught by surprise...to cross it normally it costs 0.50 cents...and walking along the p - The truth is that the experience is very good... perhaps it seemed a little expensive to me... but it's better not to get carried away. From there the visits are spectacular...

Fantastic! - Everything is a bit rustic, including the organization. Fantastic work with breathtaking views at the top of its 160 meters. The ferry transport is very original

A piece of France in the Basque country - A bit like the local Eiffel Tower, worth the detour for a walk along the Norbioi Inara with a panoramic view 50m from the ground. The children really enjoyed the walking tour at the top of the bridge.

Recognition point. - When landing at Bilboa airport we were able to take some beautiful pictures of the coastline near Getxo. The Vizcaya Bridge was clearly visible. A first landmark.
