Highlights
  • The Dark Hedges - Our final stop before heading back to Belfast is The Dark Hedges, a renowned Game of Thrones filming location where ‘The King’s Road’ was set. These trees, planted in 1775, were designed to create a dramatic entrance to the Gracehill House Estate.

Legend has it that the ghost of the Grey Lady haunts these trees, moving from one to another. She is said to be the spirit of James Stuart’s daughter or a maid from Gracehill House. This site is quickly becoming a heritage landmark in Northern Ireland and is a fantastic spot for both Game of Thrones fans and regular tourists!

  • Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge - Established in 1755, the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge is nearly 265 years old! Originally, it had just one handrail and sporadic wooden slats, making it quite unsafe and thrilling for those daring enough to cross. The bridge has since been upgraded for safety while maintaining its adventurous appeal. Located along the North Antrim Coast, the bridge spans about 100 feet above the Atlantic Ocean.

The crossing is often seen as daring and ideal for thrill-seekers due to the bridge’s tendency to sway in the wind and the significant drop below. This is a great stop and a highlight of the North Antrim Coast on our Giants Causeway Tour.

Please Note - The Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge has reopened and now requires time-slot bookings. We will assist you with booking your crossing time after you book your tour.

  • Ballintoy Harbour - Known to Game of Thrones fans as the ‘Iron Islands,’ Ballintoy Harbour is a stunning location along the North Antrim Coast that attracts thousands of tourists each year. We will make a brief stop here for you to explore, take a walk, and snap some photos. It’s a truly remarkable harbor that you must experience for yourself.

  • Giant’s Causeway - The Giant’s Causeway is the main attraction of the North Antrim Coast and one of the most impressive sights in all of Ireland. Your guide will share plenty of Irish myths during your visit. Seeing the Giant’s Causeway is breathtaking, but experiencing it with the legend of a giant building it adds another layer of wonder. The hexagonal rock formations include features like ‘The Wishing Chair,’ ‘The Camel,’ ‘The Giant’s Foot,’ and the Cliff-Top Path, all of which you will see during your visit! Admission to the Giant’s Causeway is free, though there are shuttle buses available for £1 to transport you from the car park to the Causeway. Alternatively, you can walk the route at no cost.

Admission to the Giant’s Causeway is free, but there is a separate fee for entry to the visitor center.

  • Dunluce Castle - Dunluce Castle is a medieval ruin that has been preserved to showcase the history of the North Coast and the territorial wars of the 15th and 16th centuries. The castle dates back to the 13th century, making it nearly 800 years old! Its preservation allows visitors to experience and appreciate its historical significance. We will stop here for a walk around the castle grounds, which offer fantastic photo opportunities.

  • Magheracross Viewing Point - This magnificent viewpoint is located near Dunluce Castle. We will make a brief stop to take in the stunning views of the North Antrim Coast. From here, you can see the coastline stretching to Portstewart/Portrush in one direction and back towards Dunluce Castle in the other. This newly developed location has been added to our tour for Summer 2022 and beyond to enhance your experience.

  • Bushmills Distillery - Tasting only for cruise ship tourists due to the duration of the tour

Join a Bushmills whiskey educator to learn about the craft of whiskey-making at the distillery. You’ll walk through the history of Bushmills’ grain-to-glass process, experiencing the sights and scents of each stage from mash tun to pot still to barrel. The tour concludes in the 1608 bar, where you can taste the result of over 400 years of expertise and innovation. This tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Worth every penny! - This was the best day of our week in Ireland! Paul gave my friends and me a phenomenal tour of the Northern Irish coast. He was engaging, entertaining, and knowledgeable, as well as being a safe driver. This tour exceeded my hopes for the day, and I highly recommend booking it!

A fantastic day out! - With three work colleagues visiting Belfast for the first time, we had to do the Giant's Causeway tour and we were not disappointed! Paul was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. He was also accommodating, being gracious enough to take a side trip to the Falls Road, Shankill and the Peace Wall at the request of the local in the group. Throw in the very comfortable Mercedes Van and great weather, and we couldn't ask for more. Everyone love it - it fantastic day out!

Highlight! - We had an amazing tour! Our driver George was phenomenal. We had terrible weather- and he lent me his coat and umbrella, came to take our pictures and was very accommodating. I wanted to see castles so he modified the trip and allowed us to explore at our own pace. We started at 7:30am which helped us to see places (Dark Hedges specifically) before other tours arrived. Would definitely recommend! Thank you George for an unforgettable day!!

Great tour with Paul! - We had a super day exploring the north of the county with Paul. He was super knowledgable and altered the tour to keep us dry all day, despite the ever changing weather forecast. The Dark Hedges, Dunluce Castle, Dunseverick Castle, Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede, some bonus Game of Thrones sites, and Bushmills were all top notch. I would highly recommend Paul as a tour guide. He is highly knowledgeable and provided us a wonderful perspective about the history of Ireland and the Troubles.
