The spot will depend on the conditions, always choosing the place with more chances of sightings, based on the information from our captains. Our group of 1-6 people as maximum, will board a panga boat and begin the whale watching activity.
We will head out into the bay and look for these gentle giants, who often come close the boats and interact with observers, who can scratch, hug, and even kiss the gray whales that come up to see us.
Other than grey whales, we can also encounter dolphins, and lots of sea birds in the mangroves and dunes. We will stay out doing the activity for two hours.

Throughout the span of January to March, grey whales migrate to the lagoons of Baja California and Baja California Sur. This is where they mate, birth, and nurture their offspring in the lagoons’ ‘warm’ and secure environments. Famously friendly and inquisitive, these colossal creatures have a tendency to stay near the coast, making them a thrilling spectacle for eager wildlife enthusiasts. This location serves as one of the few places globally where one can physically interact with, and even caress, the gray whales.
Having the opportunity to encounter these mammoth marine mammals in the presence of a marine biologist ensures a unique and enriching experience – a chance to marvel at their sheer size while gaining a comprehensive understanding of their behaviour, life cycles, routines, and so much more.
