Operating Schedule: From Athens center to Temple of Poseidon it takes approx. one to one and a half hours depending on the traffic conditions.
We say at the monument area approx. 2 hours.
After the sunset we begin our journey back to Athens.
Time of departure and arrival can vary depending on the time of the year because we schedule the tour according with the hour that the sun sets so our guest can enjoy the best of it!

Perfect way to travel to Cape Sounion for a gorgeous sunset. - The trip was exactly what I wanted. Sights of Athens got me to Cape Sounion with time to see the site and be in position for a phenomenal sunset.
It was all very affordable and I also enjoyed the guide's history lesson on the way to and from.

Don’t miss it! - Great guide, beautiful ride. The sunset at Cape Sounion is not to be missed. Plus, it was really nice to take a ride along that part of the coast from Athens south to the southern most tip of Attica. Plenty of time to have dinner or a drink before the sunset. Turns out we really didn’t use the extra two days of hop on hop off, so we would not have needed the combo tour (though it was a great deal.)
Our guide, Charis, was exceptionally knowledgeable and actually excited to share lots and lots of information about Greek history with us on the ride. This was not part of the formal tour nor expected. But it sure was interesting!

Sights of Athens is to be trusted, good service and prices - Excellent tour company, we were delighted with the service from the super friendly Anastasia.
We used the HOHO bus service over 2 days...service was very prompt on timings and the buses have drivers who speak good English. The routes span three lines so it can get confusing and the literature could be clearer and better designed.
Sounion trip was excellent value for 35 euros per head. It takes 90 mins one-way to reach via lovely coastal/beach scenery and you get 90 mins at the Poseidon temple to see the sunset and use the cafe if desired. Views are stunning.
Service was prompt and the tour leader was scrupulous about ensuring all 40 of us got back on the (modern) coach.

Good service with a personal twist ! - Very good service , useful , good frequency and relevant stops.
For us it was much more than that. Vasili, who sold the tickets , become a kind of "guardian angel", he was always available to guide us, recommending spots along the way .
So we very happy about the service. Thanks !

This is actually a great way to get around Athens for the first time. It allows you the opportunity to see the sites. - It would have been 5 but we were mislead on our second day and ended up taking the same route, rather than heading to the beaches! Drat!

Great trip, misleading advertising - The trip was great. The combo advertising is misleading and not correct.
The combo is not priced 35€, this is the price of the trip to Capo Sounion only.
The trip is not on a double decker bus as you might imagine from the picture. It was on a very comfortable mini van with a kind driver. It worth absolutely but it should be advertised more clearly.

Make sure you know what tour co you're with - Got passed around from one hop on/off company to another. Finally got the right company. Wasted 75% of our tour time.

Disappointing - We cannot review the actual experience because the bus driver never gave us a chance. He was to pick us at the old parliament building he parked further down the street we tried to get to him but he only stopped for about 30 second and then took off. When we called he said he would wait further down the the street it was just a 4 minute walk. Maybe for some people but not for 2 over 70 women in 100 degree weather. We saw him again ahead of us but he took off again. We called again. He said to get a cab and meet at another location he would wait 3 minutes. With traffic and road construction we were unable lot find a cab in time so we just gave up. Maybe the experience is as good as sold but we will never know
