Acatenango Volcano - Upon arrival at La Soledad Village, your adventure truly begins as you meet your knowledgeable tour guide. He/she will provide you with special instructions tailored to the hike ahead, ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey.

Prepare to be captivated by the diversity of Acatenango Volcano’s trail, which boasts four distinct microclimates. Each segment will take approximately an hour to traverse, granting you an immersive experience like no other.

We’ll start off by ascending a steep trail that winds through local farm fields.

Next, we’ll enter an ancient tropical cloud forest. Then, prepare to be mesmerized by the magnificent vistas of the majestic Cuchumatanes mountain chain.

  • 4 liters of water (minimum)
  • Rain jacket
  • One warm layer and/or windbreaker
  • Snacks, camera, sunglasses & sunscreen
  • Cold-weather clothing for near-freezing night-time temperatures at camp
  • Hiking boots or trekking shoes (no sandals)
  • Personal toiletries and/or medications
  • Large-capacity backpack (50L+) with rain cover. You’ll receive food, water bottles, and utensils to pack in your backpack for added comfort during your stay at the base camp. All camping gear, including sleeping bags, will be waiting for you at the base camp. You’ll only need to bring the items mentioned above.
  • Please be aware that this is a shared tour, which may result in a slightly extended pick-up time of 30 to 45 minutes. We kindly ask that you be prepared at the scheduled pick-up time to ensure a prompt departure and avoid inconveniencing fellow passengers. Thank you for your cooperation!
