- Saragarhi Memorial Gurudwara - Proceed to the Saragarhi Memorial Gurudwara, a stunning tribute to the 21 Sikh Soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Battle of Saragarhi during British rule in India. - Amritsar - Spend some time at Old Fawara (Fountain) Chowk, located in the heart of Amritsar, a wonderful spot to interact with the locals. Amritsar is renowned for its hospitality and warmth, which is evident when mingling with the locals. A simple “Sat Sri Akal” greeting will open doors to their hearts. - Jallianwala Bagh - Visit Jallianwala Bagh, a historic garden and ‘memorial of national importance’ in Amritsar, India, preserved in memory of those injured and killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre on the festival of Baisakhi, 13 April 1919. It features a museum, gallery, and several memorial structures.
- Golden Temple - Conclude the tour with a visit to one of Amritsar’s most iconic attractions and its spiritual center, the Sri Harmandir Sahib, commonly known as the Golden Temple. This is the holiest temple in the Sikh faith. India is home to many religions, and one of these, Sikhism, is centered in the northern Indian state of Punjab. Its followers believe in a single God and the teachings of 10 holy gurus. The temples, or gurdwaras, in Amritsar serve as both the spiritual and administrative hub for 20 million Sikhs worldwide.
The temple has undergone numerous renovations, including the addition of marble inlays along the floor. Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the founder of the Sikh Empire of India (1799-1849), had the temple’s upper floors adorned with 750 kilos of pure gold.
The Golden Temple in Amritsar offers free hot meals, known as langar, to people of all religions and faiths who visit daily.
