Cairo & the Pyramids. - This was a very long day!!! We went to our meeting point & met 3 or 4 men that were tour guides. Tour did not leave until 9:20. It was certainly a mass of confusion. We made our way to Cairo to the pyramids and the new Egyptian Museum. We had more than enough time to see everything. All in all, a good day. Long ride back to the ship but it was all worth it. Patience was required early on but the rewards were spectacular. This was my 3rd trip to Cairo and amazed me each time. Go for it!!!!! Michael & Phyllis.

Wonderful tour. Logistics needs work. - So I’m giving this 5 stars because of the support staff… the tour guide, his coworker and the driver. All were great. Everything was fast because, hey, it’s a group tour of something you could spend a week doing. The museum was amazing, and our guide (whose name I don’t remember, more on that later) was a wealth of knowledge. The lunch was great and the shopping was what I expected. I’m not a shopper.
The one criticism I have was the lack of communication from the tour company. This is our first cruise and we didn’t understand where to meet the bus or our tour guide’s name, which is important because there were multiple Let’s Explore Egypt buses. We sat on the wrong bus for at least 30 minutes, and we asked if we were on the right bus about 3 times and were told yes. Finally they realized something was wrong and figured it out but it caused a delay for everyone. All of this was avoidable. So management, get yourselves together. If we received a simple note saying “go across bridge, meet your tour guide Amun” (not his name… I don’t think) we would have figured it out.
Again, the tour was awesome. Logistics? Not very good.

Rushed! But knowledgeable - We booked a private tour, just the two of us, hoping we would be able to see as much as possible. First off, you will meet Let’s Explore Egypt outside of the port gates. It’s kind of a hike. Just look for a person holding a sign. Our guide was Abel? She was very informative. She grabbed us some drinks and snacks immediately for the long drive. I wanted to do the pyramids first to avoid the heat. She stated that we would do the GEM museum first. Abel, was extremely knowledgeable of the artifacts in the museum, but we were rushed. She took lots of nice pictures of us in there. Then they took us to an expensive store for shirts. After shopping we went to a buffet restaurant. It was a great place with wonderful food. She then took us to another store where they tried to sell us bracelets. We said no, we just want to see the pyramids. She tried to convince us to go to see another place before going to the pyramids. We explained that we paid for this trip and didn’t want to go anywhere but the pyramids. She then agreed and we finally made it to the pyramids. We did get our 30 minute camel ride and the person that walked us to the most memorable photos and videos. Abel then took us to walk around the pyramids. She was wonderful at keeping all the people trying to sell things away from us. The problem was that it was already 2pm at this time and the heat was unbearable. I could not physically enjoy more than an hour of walking around. I wish I would have demanded to go see the pyramids first. Lesson learned.
It’s a great trip with a knowledgeable guide. If you opt for the private tour, put your foot down and skip the stores, if that’s what you want. There is plenty of shopping at the dock when you get off the ship. Enjoy Egypt!!

Giza Private Tour - It’s a good trip…only thing we disagree was when we were taken to the store of souvenir, oil and paper which is not suppose to be included in the tour….for us It’s a waste of time.

Very disappointing - I'd like to start by saying our driver from Alexandria to Giza was great. Very accommodating and honest in helping us when the desert road was closed for a few hours before we could get started. No worries there as no one can control the weather. Unfortunately on arrival to Giza we encountered Mohammed. A guide who requested that I sit in the back seat to show him respect. Then our choice to get a private tour became a waste of money when we had to leave our car and join the hop on hop off bus to take us around the pyramids in the extreme heat. After mostly walking with Mohammed talking non stop in the heat we had lunch at a very ordinary place ( I would not call it a restaurant). No air conditioning and incredibly hot with flies. Requested to return to our cruise ship as GEM museum was closed. Not a great experience at all with a group of locals fighting in the street to add to the negative experience. Luckily our sweet driver took us for a trip around Alexandria foreshore to end the day which was lovely .

We were very disappointed with our tour guide. We even started 1 hour later - We were genuinely disappointed with our tour guide. It felt as though his primary focus was on persuading us to purchase oils at the aromatherapy shop, rather than allowing us ample time to fully experience the magnificence of the Pyramids, which were undoubtedly the highlight of our trip. We caught a glimpse of the Sphinx from a distance, but I had to insist on getting closer to the Great Pyramid. Finally, after some persistence, we managed to approach it for a brief five minutes. The guide seemed more eager for us to snap quick pictures from afar and rush off to the next stop. The only moments during the tour when we felt truly relaxed were while we were buying oils or at the souvenir shop. It’s a shame, really, as the Pyramids deserve so much more than a fleeting visit.
