FASCINATING BREWERY TOUR in a TINY VILLAGE WORH VISITING - We greatly enjoy Xarma beer, so as we were staying nearby, decided to take the brewery tour. On arrival, there were very few people there except staff. After a while, around 11AM, others arrived and the tour guide, Antigone, started explaining about the ingredients in beer, showed everyone (and let them smell and taste) the ingredients and how each works to flavor beer. After this, she took everyone to the viewing area and explained the entire brewing process as well as the steps the Brewery takes to be sustainable and also protect the environment. It was really fascinating. Then we went to the covered patio for our five-beer flight of Xarma beers — Lager, Pale Ale, Dunkel, Weiss and another I cannot remember! Visitors can also purchase food, which we did, and it was fantastic ... we had meatballs with spicy cheese sauce, a pork steak, fried potatoes ... everything was delicious. Afterward, we were able to go to the store and purchased tee and polo shirts with the Xarma logo of the KriKri horns as a great memory! I would very highly recommend this tour for lovers of beer and, especially lovers of Xarma bee. For €8, it was a bargain and Antigone was really charming and informative!

Charma brewery tour - €8 beer tasting tour A good couple of hours spent on the tour, tasting and chatting with friends. Only 6 people on our session and the guide was very knowledgeable, it was quite quick then down to the tasting. Again the guide discussed the four beers discribing the flavours, this was leisurely allowing us to relax on the sun while savouring the beers. Extremely reasonable for the money. I recommend the tour.

Totally recommended! - The brewery is really small, but the staff is super kind. The brewery tour is not a proper tour as it is not possible to get inside where the beer is actually produced, but from outside you can see almost all the production steps that were really kindly illustrated and explained by our tour guide. All the six beer produced are available for the tasting, which is also really nice (we recommend to have a portions of wedges and tzatziki dip with it, they are simply too good!) and you can enjoy it sitting on a terrace in the middle of their avocado trees. It was a really nice experience.

Brilliant Beer - The tour was very informative and it was great to be able to try the four different and extremely good beers at the end. Charma was our favourite beer in Crete - so it was wonderful to see how it was made.

Very interesting and highly recommended - Having tasted Charma beer ( on many occasions ! ) , we thought it would be interesting to visit the brewery . After a lovely ,scenic drive we arrived at this small , not mass producing brewery set in beautiful countryside . We had a very interesting tour which lasted about 45 mins and tasted some of the ingredients that go into brewing the various beers …. Very informative. Then we tasted 4 different beers …both enjoying the various flavours . We were given information about each one before tasting … We decided to stay for lunch ; lovely , tasty food ….highly recommended… and to top it all you can purchase bottles of the various beers ( from the draught pumps) to take away …. Winner 😄…. A brilliant time spent …. Definitely worth a visit

A wonderful experience which I would recommend to anyone that wants to experience a true Cretan way of life. - What a fantastic experience. Guided tour was informative and very interesting with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. The beer tasting was enhanced by an explanation of the different beers leaving us arguing over which was our favourite (we loved all of them). We then had lunch there which was wonderful. Finally, a drive back to Sougia through some beautiful mountain scenery. The brewery is in a beautiful setting off the beaten track and I would thoroughly recommend a visit. We will certainly be returning if only for lunch and to buy more of the Weiss (we finally agreed on a favourite).

Brewery tour and beer tasting - The brewery was in a great location with fantastic views of the surrounding olive, orange and avocado trees. Our guide was very good and gave us an interesting tour of how the beer is brewed and the history of the brewery and the types of beer produced. The beer tasting was great as we got to try all 6 different beers in a relaxing place. Well worth a visit as it was only €8 per person plus a very small booking fee. We got a taxi to and from Platanias which was €25 each way for the three of us.
