Great tour, great guides - Sabastian and Alejandro were fantastic guides. One member of our group had some issues with motion sickness and struggled with the altitude, but Sebastian was always extremely accommodating and helpful. When you visit the lagoon, you will ascend (by foot) over 3,000m, so be ready for that.
This is a long day packed with unique and interesting sights.
Absolutely no fault of the guides, the traffic in Bogota is consistently very bad. The 1.5 hour there/back both took way longer, the way back ended up taking 3 hours. Just keep this in mind, probably don’t schedule multiple activities on the day you book this tour.
Overall we had a very nice time!

Great tour with history, mystery and wonderful views - It was a great experience. Guide Sebastian was helpful, patient and informative. Driver Alejandro was great navigating the traffic and keeping us on track safe.

Best Tour and Guides ! - Sebastian our tour guide and Pedro our driver were amazing, be prepared for a full day, start to finish was about 12+ hours. Well worth it. You see so much and experience a great deal. I highly recommend !

Wonderful experience - We had the opportunity to do this tour being one of the best of our trip to Colombia. The Gatavita lagoon is truly spectacular as is the salt cathedral. The attention of Mr. Alejandro Reyes made this trip a great experience as he explained much of the history of his country of which he is proud, as well as the attention of our guide who made the trip very enjoyable. We definitely recommend it and will look for this agency when we return to this beautiful country.

Recommended - Excellent walk and service! The Enterprise is very attentive and responds quickly whenever there is any prior question.

Excellent tour - I went on the tour of Guatavita lagoon and salt cathedral, I totally recommend it, especially the lagoon, the history is very nice and the guides of the spectacular park, we had a great time. Also Alejandro our driver had so many anecdotes and interesting stories that he gave us a very good time, our guide Diego always worried that everything would go perfect and also told us a lot of data about the places we visited.

The Worst Experience Ever - Absolutely Horrible Experience — Do Not Book with Viator’s Tours
I booked this Shared Tour to Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral and Guatavita Lagoon expecting a pleasant 6-hour excursion. Instead, it turned into a nightmare 14-hour ordeal that wasted my entire day and put my safety at risk.
Picked up at 7:30 AM and didn’t return until 9:15 PM. This was advertised as a 6-hour tour — not DOUBLE the time.
We were stopped by local police, and our driver didn’t have the proper documents. He had to pay the officers off, and we were left waiting for almost an hour on the roadside.
When we finally met our assigned guide, he was smoking marijuana on the job. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable.
We were taken to a local restaurant clearly in partnership with the guide, where everyone was overcharged for basic meals.
On the way back, the guide arranged a prostitute for another passenger — absolutely reckless and dangerous behavior for a group tour.
After this disastrous experience, I reached out for a refund, and Viator’s refused to take any responsibility.
This company is unsafe, unethical, and completely unprofessional. Also, the tour guide was dropped off first because thus tour was so long
Do NOT book with Viator’s. I will never use them again.
