• Longmen Grottoes - The Longmen Grottoes is one of China’s four famous ancient grottoes (the Longmen Grottoes, the Mogao Grottoes, the Yungang Grottoes, and the Maijishan Grottoes). At Longmen Grottoes, there are more than 2,300 sacred niches and 100,000 Buddhist statues in various sizes created by skilled artisans. Scattered densely on the majestic mountains from north to south, the grottoes stretch for 1,000 meters (1,100 yards) along the cliffs. In addition, there are 2,800 precious stele inscriptions and calligraphy works from the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) to the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127) that will provide you a visual feast.

Today, a driver will pick you up from your hotel in Xi’an city and take you to the bullet train to Luoyang. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your guide at Longmen train station. You’ll visit the Shaolin Temple and Longmen Grottoes. After the tour, your guide will drop you off at Luoyang Longmen train station for your bullet train back to Xi’an.

The Shaolin Temple is the birthplace of Chinese Kung Fu. It’s a fantastic opportunity to observe the daily life and meditation practices of the monks. Don’t miss the Kung Fu show at the Shaolin Theater; it’s the essence of the Shaolin Temple.
