Shaolin Temple-Pagoda Forest- Mt. Song

Shaolin Temple - Meet the private guide and driver at the downtown hotel in Luoyang and be transported in a comfortable, air-conditioned private vehicle to Shaolin Temple (approximately a 1.5-hour drive), located in Dengfeng County, Henan province. Originally constructed in 495 during the Northern Wei Dynasty (368-534), it is renowned as ‘the Number One Temple under Heaven’. With the tour guide, first explore Shanmen Hall, Hall of Heavenly Kings, and Thousand-Buddha Hall.

Pagoda Forest of Shaolin Temple - Next, visit the Pagoda Forest at Shaolin Temple, the most fascinating part of the entire complex. It consists of 228 stone or brick pagodas built from 791 AD during the Tang Dynasty through the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties.

Songshan Mountain - Then, take a cable car to Mt. Song with the tour guide. It takes about 2 hours to reach the top temple: Sanhuang Village Resort after the cable car ride. This part of the tour is optional.
After the tour, return to Luoyang.

Longmen Grottoes-White Horse Temple

White Horse Temple - After enjoying a local lunch, continue to White Horse Temple, the birthplace of Buddhism in China, first established in 68 AD under Emperor Ming’s patronage during the Eastern Han dynasty. The site also showcases exquisite examples of Thai, Burmese, and Indian temples.
Once the tour concludes, return to the hotel or be dropped off at Luoyang Ancient Cultural Street to enjoy some leisure time.
