Arrival in Zhangjiajie

Zhangjiajie - Welcome to Zhangjiajie! Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by our tour guide at the airport or train station, holding a sign with your name. A comfortable, non-smoking vehicle with an experienced driver will take you directly to your hotel in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Your guide will assist with the check-in process.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park: Tianzi (Emperor Mountain) Peak Forest & Yuanjiajie Avatar Area & Golden Whip Stream (B, L)

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park - After breakfast, embark on a full-day adventure in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Begin by taking the Tianzishan cable car to enjoy the breathtaking views of Tianzi Mountain, where the peaks rise majestically. From the top, you can admire the entire scenic area, which is truly magnificent and awe-inspiring. Next, take a sightseeing bus to the Yuanjiajie Area, renowned for inspiring the floating mountains in the Hollywood movie Avatar. Descend the mountain via the 326-meter Bailong Elevator and stop at Golden Whip Stream, famous for its clear waters, lush mountains, steep cliffs, and tranquil valley. After this exciting tour, you will be escorted back to your hotel.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon (Glass Bridge) & Yellow Dragon Cave (B, L)

The Grand Canyon of Zhangjiajie - After breakfast, drive approximately 30km to visit the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Start at the Tourist Center and walk on the world’s highest and longest glass bridge. Enjoy the stunning views of flowing waters, cascading waterfalls, and lush vegetation. (Please note: You can choose to only experience the thrilling glass bridge or fully explore the glass bridge along with hiking and boating in the Grand Canyon.)

Next, drive about 20km to explore the natural wonder of the Yellow Dragon Cave, also known as Huanglong Cave. This underground palace is praised by UNESCO experts as the most beautiful cave in the world, covering an area of 100,000 square meters, with a length of 7.6 kilometers and a height of 140 meters. The cave features two underground rivers, four waterfalls, 13 caverns, and 10,000 stalagmites and stalactites. The Magic Needle and Chair of Dragon King are two of the most famous sights in the cave.

Tianmen Mountain (Tianmen Cave, Glass Walking Way, Longest Cable Way in the World, Drive on the 99 Bends Road) (B, L)

Tianmen Mountain - After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. Begin your day with a visit to Tianmen Mountain, known as the “Soul of culture and spirit of Zhangjiajie.” Standing 1,500 meters above sea level, Tianmen Mountain boasts a miraculous and unique geographic landform, unparalleled natural landscape, and profound cultural significance.

Experience the longest cableway in Asia, stretching 7,200 meters, and capture photos of the Avenue toward Heaven with its 99 turns from the cable car. At the top of Tianmen Mountain, enjoy the Cliff-Hanging Walkway and the thrilling Glass Sky Walk. Then, visit the natural mountain-penetrating Karst cave, Tianmen Cave. After the tour, return to your hotel.

Optional activity: A Fox Fairy of Tianmen Mountain is renowned as the world’s first real-scene musical drama, with high mountains and deep valleys as the stage backdrop. A captivating love story unfolds on this stage.

Fenghuang County - Today, enjoy a delightful tour of Fenghuang Ancient Town. Fenghuang (Phoenix) ancient city is a nationally renowned historical and cultural city, praised by New Zealand writer Louis Alley as the most beautiful city in China. Legend has it that the ancient Indian bird “Phoenix” collected scented woods and self-immolated at the age of five hundred years, only to be reborn from the ashes, never to die again. The Chinese call this bird Fenghuang, a sacred legendary creature.

In the town, dozens of alleys paved with stones run between wooden houses built by the Tuo River. The Chinese Miao people have walked these stone roads for generations. Highlights of today’s tour include Phoenix River rafting, The Former Residence of Shen Congwen, and the Ancient Town Museum.

In the afternoon, drive back to Zhangjiajie city and be escorted to the airport or train station for your next destination or journey home.
