Zhangjiajie National Forest Park: Tianzi Mountain Peak Forest, Yuanjiajie Avatar Area & Golden Whip Stream (B, L)
Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area of Zhangjiajie - After breakfast, embark on a full-day adventure in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.
Today, you will visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Begin with a ride on the Tianzishan cable car to enjoy the breathtaking views of Tianzi Mountain, where peaks rise majestically. From the mountain top, you can see the entire scenic area, which is truly magnificent. Next, take a sightseeing bus to the Yuanjiajie Area, famous for inspiring the floating mountains in the movie Avatar. The peaks here are nearly the same height, creating a platform perfect for panoramic views. Then, visit Golden Whip Stream, renowned for its clear waters, lush mountains, steep cliffs, and tranquil valley. After this exciting tour, you’ll be escorted back to your hotel.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon (Glass Bridge) & Yellow Dragon Cave (B, L)
Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area of Zhangjiajie - After breakfast, prepare for today’s thrilling adventures. First, drive approximately 30km to visit the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Start at the Tourist Center and walk on the world’s highest and longest glass bridge. Then, enjoy the beautiful scenery of flowing waters, cascading waterfalls, and lush vegetation. (Note: In Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, you can choose to only experience the glass bridge or explore further with hiking and boating.)
Next, drive about 20km to the Yellow Dragon Cave, also known as Huanglong Cave. This underground palace is praised by UNESCO experts as the most beautiful cave in the world, covering 100,000 square meters, with a length of 7.6 kilometers and a height of 140 meters. It features two underground rivers, four waterfalls, 13 caverns, and 10,000 stalagmites and stalactites.
Tianmen Mountain (Tianmen Cave, Glass Walkway, Longest Cableway in the World, Drive on the 99 Bends Road) (B, L)
Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park - After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. Today, visit Tianmen Mountain, known as the “Soul of culture and spirit of Zhangjiajie.” Standing 1,500 meters above sea level, it boasts unique geographic formations and stunning natural landscapes.
Experience Asia’s longest cableway, spanning 7,200 meters, and capture photos of the Avenue toward Heaven with its 99 turns from the cable car. At the top of Tianmen Mountain, enjoy the Cliff-Hanging Walkway and the thrilling Glass Sky Walk. Then, visit the natural mountain-penetrating Karst cave, Tianmen Cave. After the tour, return to your hotel.
Optional activity: A Fox Fairy of Tianmen Mountain, the world’s first real-scene musical drama, set against the backdrop of high mountains and deep valleys, presenting a heartwarming love story.
Mengdong River Rafting & Furong Town (B, L)
Mengdong River Scenic Resort - After breakfast, drive about 2.5 hours to the Mengdong River Rafting pier. Once prepared, begin your exciting rafting adventure. The Mengdong River spans about 17 kilometers. As you enjoy the thrilling rafting, you’ll travel down the river in a small boat, passing through a valley. The experience feels like soaring through the air, descending into a deep valley, galloping on horseback, or riding on clouds and mist.
After lunch, tour Furong Ancient Town, home to Tujia, Miao, and Han people, with Tujia people making up over 80% of the population. The Tujia have lived here for over 2,000 years, making Furong Town a perfect place to explore Tujia culture, with over three hundred relics in Tujia Diaojiaolou (vernacular pillar-supported dwellings).
Dragon Sitting Gorge & Red Stone Forest Geo-Park (B, L)
Mengdong River Scenic Resort - After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel to start today’s adventure. First, visit Dragon Sitting Gorge, where the paths are built in the deep valley, utilizing the steep mountains, resembling nature’s sculpture. Walking along these paths requires more than just physical strength; a strong will and appreciation for nature are essential. Only by exploring it yourself can you truly understand its beauty.
After lunch, visit Red Stone Forest National Geological Park. The stone forest spans 20 square kilometers in its original ecological state, with tall rocks in various shapes throughout the scenic spot.
Aizhai Suspension Bridge & Aizhai Cliff Plank Walk & Southern Wall & Fenghuang Ancient Town Night View (B, L)
Fenghuang Ancient City Museum - After breakfast, drive half an hour to Aizhai Bridge, a suspension bridge part of an expressway in Hunan province. The bridge offers spectacular views as it spans across the mountain. On March 8th, 2018, the “Aizhai cliff plank road” officially opened, stretching 1.5 kilometers with a vertical drop of 500 meters, including a 100-meter glass path. While exploring the Aizhai cliff plank, enjoy the exciting and fantastic scenery of the deep Wuling Mountains and valleys, and experience the thrill of the glass path.
After lunch, drive to the Southern Great Wall, built in 1554 during the Ming Dynasty and completed in 1622. It was constructed to defend against the Miao people in the south.
Next, drive to Fenghuang Ancient Town, where the night view is stunning, attracting thousands of tourists worldwide.
Fenghuang Ancient Town & Zhangjiajie Departure (B, L)
Fenghuang Ancient City Museum - Today, enjoy a tour of Fenghuang Ancient Town. Fenghuang, meaning phoenix, is a nationally recognized historical and cultural city, praised by New Zealand writer Louis Alley as the most beautiful city in China.
Legend has it that the ancient Indian bird “Phoenix” collected scented woods and burned itself at the age of five hundred years, resurrecting from the ashes, never to die again. The Chinese call this bird Fenghuang, a sacred legendary creature.
In the town, dozens of alleys paved with stones run between wooden houses built by the Tuo River. Generations of Chinese Miao people have walked these stone roads. Today’s highlights include Phoenix River rafting, The Former Residence of Shen Congwen, and the Ancient Town Museum.
In the afternoon, return to Zhangjiajie city and be escorted to the airport or train station for your next destination or journey home.
