This fascinating excursion leads you through a maze of narrow streets that boasts more than 2000 limestone buildings, covering an area of 50 hectares and with a population of 18000 living in the suburbs. Wonderful introduction to Stone Town - Our guide, Imran, was articulate, passionate, and knowledgeable about Stone Town as he gave our group of 8 people a walking tour. He lives in the city and had great insight on both the long history of Stone Town as well as recent challenges to maintaining its architecture and livability.

Perfect tour to get situated! - Mohammed O. was a fantastic guide! Easily the best tour guide we had on Zanzibar! He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The walking tour was a perfect mix of history, culture, and sightseeing. Mohammed made sure to go to all of the important areas and gave tidbits of history and facts along the way. You can tell he was a true professional by answering all of our questions with excellent and in-depth answers, he really knows his stuff! The couple of hours flew right by and we found that we learned so much about Stone Town, I would highly recommend this tour! Definitely a great value and perfect tour to do after you drop your bags at the hotel.

Great, informative tour! - I ended up having a personal Stone Town tour with Ahmed, a very experienced and knowledgeable guide. I learned a lot about the multicultural history of old Zanzibar and its slave trade. Ahmed allowed me to stop very long at a tanzanite jeweler (ending up buying something), and did not mind that the tour took 3, rather than the allotted 2 hours. A great pleasure and fun!

Amazing tour with Ally - We were fortunate to get Ally Jape as our guide and he was PHENOMENAL. He shared interesting information on Stone Town accompanied with his opinions and commentary which was extremely insightful and stimulating. For every question we had, he shared an informed answer and opinion. He took his time to explain things and show us around without rushing. We visited various landmarks and learned far more about Zanzibar than we could imagine. Could not recommend this more, it was our favourite experience in Tanzania! Very professional and personalised experience!

A Maze of Stone Town - I was happy to be guided through the town. I learned more on a tour then if I'd just walked around. The information about the doors of Stone Town was intriguing. I also liked the slave trade information and museum. Being there brought my history books more to life albeit humbling. I liked how my guide spoke of the culture of Zanzibar, as well. I definitely recommend this tour!
