Best Foodie guide ever. - As I understand it, this company uses contractors for their tour guides. So, I am rating Musawir, as he was amazing. If you book this tour and he is not your guide, you are missing out! Musawir is friendly, knowledgeable and very caring. He's passionate about 3 things, children, cats and tourists, who all need taking care of! I explained early on that I was interested in tasting local foods, but have a small appetite. He was very accommodating, making sure I got to taste many things, but that nothing went to waste (we're both passionate about not wasting). And he knows his local street food vendors. He took me to his favorite chapati maker, and it was the best chapati I have ever had, incredible. Took me to a happening Zanzibar mix place, ate a few dishes at a small (2 table) restaurant. We also had a lovely sugar cane juice with lime. Toward the end of the tour he asked me if I wanted a cup of coffee, and I couldn't, I was just too full. Aha, he says, I have just the thing, and got me a cup of ginger tea. Wow, it was perfect. He also took me to a local spice shop, not the ones where they overcharge tourists, but the local shop, where all the local Mamas buy their spices. I got all my spices to bring home for half what I would have paid in the markets. All in all a great tour, thanks to Musawir!!

Excellent - This was a great tour. Musawir is authentic and easy to talk to. He's picky about the places he shows you, and he's also quite knowledgeable about the history and techniques behind the food. We went places I would have never been able to find myself, where we tried foods I'd never have known to order.

Excellent foodie tour - Can’t recommend this tour more. We tried all sorts of Zanzibari street foods, explored the fruit and fish markets, drank coffee with the locals, and more. Musawir is a knowledgeable, funny, and friendly guide - he really goes the extra mile! An excellent choice for anyone curious about local cuisine and life in Stone Town.

Authentic Stone Town - We had a fantastic time on our ~3hour food tour! Not only did we get to sample a selection of Zanzibarian food (food we'd not think to try otherwise) but we also got a glimpse into the history and culture of the island. Our tour guide was knowledable and friendly. I highly recommend this experience to all.

Also, dealing with the company for booking and details was a dream. We booked last minute but it was no problem. Good communication, prompt and professional.

Very pleasing - Haji was a great guide, very knowledgeable with many friends around the city. Great food, definitely don't eat beforehand. The octopus soup was a highlight. Some confusion at the meeting, pass your driver's number on to the company for ease

Local cuisine and history - This was a great experience! We met at Forodhani gardens where we started with a brief history of Zanzibar while sipping hot spice tea and boiled Cassava. Then walking through the small streets of stone town, we stopped at various food stalls where only the locals eat. The food was delicious and there was lots of it! (Be sure not to eat beforehand :) ) some of the selection of foods ranged from millet porridge, jack fruit, sugar cane juice, Zanzibar mix (orojo), mango, bell fruit, kitumboa(rice bread), and also a stop at the Lukmaan restaurant where we ate egg chop and potato beef pie. Last but not least hot coffee with local sweets Ubuyu (baobab candy). Really recommend this tour for all foodies and all those who aren’t afraid to really experience local Swahili cuisine!! We have to also mention our guide, Hamdu- he really explained all there was to know about food culture in Zanzibar; and in perfect English. Great guy!
