- Kidichi Persian Baths - Our initial destination is the Kidichi Persian baths. Erected atop the highest elevation on Zanzibar Island by Sultan Seyyid Said for his Persian Shah’s granddaughter wife, Fatah Ali, the site features exquisite Persian stucco decorations. The well-maintained baths boast a collection of domed structures, deep-set stone tubs, and substantial seating areas.\nIn stark contrast, the nearby Kizimbani baths, which are much simpler, were constructed amidst Said’s plantation of clove trees and coconuts.\n\nOur journey continues as we meander through lush countryside, experiencing the sights, scents, and tastes of a variety of spices and tantalizing tropical fruits in season, including jackfruit, pineapple, banana, fresh coconut water, durian, love apple, lychee, soursop, and more. The spices we’ll encounter include cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, turmeric, nutmeg, and others. Beyond spices, the comprehensive tour offers glimpses of the iodine plant, henna bush, ylang-ylang, among others.

This tour is a walking tour in a spice farm (shamba). While there, you shall see how the spices, herbs and fruits grow and are cultivated. Your tour guide will describe how the crops can be used. You will be smelling and tasting spices, herbs and tropical fruits such as clove, lemongrass, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, vanilla, coconuts, papaya, chili, black pepper, jackfruit, cardamom, cassava and oranges.

Absolutely recommend... - Absolutely recommend doing a spice farm tour when in Zanzibar. Learned alot and a whole more appreciation for the spices and flavours I come across day to day, This tour and guide was very knowledgable and relaxed and enjoyable at the same time. Thumbs up from me.
