Highly recommend - My boyfriend and I spent 5 days in Zanzibar and loved it. We went on two days of tours with Zan Archpelago Tours. We booked the first one through TripAdvisor and our guide was Ishmael. He was fantastic - super knowledgeable, personable and fun. We booked the second tour with this operator via WhatsApp because we couldn’t find an existing itinerary that covered everything we wanted, so this tour operator prepared an itinerary based on our specific preferences. Ishmael was so great that we requested him again for our second day. All the activities were so well organized and a lot of fun. Highly recommend Zan Archpelago and specifically Ishmael.

Amazing trip to Prison island and I Nakupenda island - We booked a day trip to prison island and to Nakupenda island (sand bank). We paid extra for a transfer from our hotel near Kendwa Beach to stone town which was $80 including return. The boat took us to both islands. The tour guide at Prison island was very informative and helpful we also got to feed the tortoises. We went on to Nakupenda island which was beautiful ! where they prepared use a beautiful BBQ lunch which tasted incredible and we got to swim and take pictures. Definitely worth the money and was affordable. The staff was very friendly and helpful :)

Exceptional experience - On the prison island we can visit and even feed the giant turtles that inhabit it, dozens of them! There is also a restaurant with a terrace under the biggest tree we have ever seen. Beautiful landscapes with the turquoise sea as a background. On the sandbank, another incredible experience with diving in an ocean with a temperature of 28° and tasting freshly cut fruit.

Solo trip to Prison Island and Nakupenda. - Had an excellent day trip with Muustar. Very friendly and polite. He was able to answer questions and the day was very chill - no rushing or stuck to a time limit. He also very kindly offered to take photos throughout the day. The food on the sandbar was delicious. I would definitely recommend this to visitors to Stone Town.

A great experience! - An excellent trip all around. Yussef was a great guide, got us to the tortoises before the huge crowd, and had a great afternoon snorkeling and relaxing on the sandbar beach. Great lunch. Would definitely recommend!

Solo traveler - This was such a well organized trip. Every single activity was well planned and so much fun. I particularly want to thank my guide, Rose, and driver Ibra, for their hospitality and making sure I was happy. The dolphins were my and cave were my favorite parts! I would also like to add that I was a solo traveler and enjoyed myself!

Great tour ! - We had a very good experience with a very nice guide (Yassin). We started our private tour with the visit of Prison Island. Our guide explained a lot of things about the island but also about Zanzibar in general. It was very interesting. We could spend some time with the giant tortoises, we even could feed them, touch them and take a lot of pictures with them. Then we went to Nakupenda Island. This sandbank is really beautiful and the snorkeling is amazing ! The food was abundant and delicious, both the fruit platter and the seafood platter (with fries). Finally, Yassin walked us through Stone Town to help us find some items we were looking for and then walked us back to our hotel. It is a bit expensive but everything is included and well organized so it is worth the money ! Noteworthy: we were able to book the trip on the evening before.

Fun & Relaxing - Nice experience. The prison island was interesting to see and learn about. The tortoises were my favorite part. Being able to feed and touch them was very cool. Nakupenda sandbank was such a nice relaxing experience. Our guide set up a tent for shade. We had fresh fruit then shortly after we were served lobster, shrimp, tuna, fries, and octopus. Pretty good food overall. Beware of the crabs that bury in the sand and walk all over the beach. If you close your eyes too long you might wake up to a surprise! Even that, the crabs are pretty shy and run once they see you walking by. Fun experience.
