Informative, stress free and interesting - Great Meal! Best of all trips - I was driven to the farm. I had a most intensive tour of all the spice plants and was dressed up in garlands of palm leaves and hibiscus! The meal and the fresh fruit afterwards was a bit of a high point. We saw a man climb a coconut palm and then we ate fresh coconut and drank coconut water. Everything was good and the guide was happy to let me sit and rest as I needed.

Excellent From Start To End! - I led a group of 10 U.S. journalists and friends, and this was one of our planned events. Everybody agreed that it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Amiable, knowledgeable tour guide with an equally excellent assistant. The lunch they prepared for us and served at the end was one of the best meals we had during our stay in Zanzibar, and we all bought some of their coffees, teas, soaps, and other personal care items when we were given the opportunity at the end. This was worth probably twice what it actually cost. We highly recommend it. When I return, this will definitely be on the itinerary again. We went in the latter of June, arguably the best month for weather in Zanzibar. Warm but not hot and humid.

Good trip - We used Zan Archipelago Tours & Safaris for ur tour to Prison island, we liked the service so we booked for the 1/2 day spice tour Pick up was on time and in a good taxi. The guide was very informative and we were dazzled by the massive variety of spices that were grown on the island Would recommend

A great tour. - Overall, the tour was fantastic. Learned so much about spices. The lunch was really good. The fruit tasting at the end was fun. I had not tried Jackfruit, love it.

Highly recommended tour - Zanzibar is the island of spices so there's a lot to learn and experience on the spice farm and our guide, Hamad gave us a great and informative tour. People working at the farm also make sure that the visitors are entertained and when it started to rain they immediately ran to grab umbrellas for us. Tipping the staff with some small amounts is expected but not mandatory.

Try this if you are interested in spices - I can highly recomend this spice tour to Jambo Spicefarm. Our guide knew everything there was to know about the spices and we could taste and feel most of them. The farm is ment for tourists, but still it was very charming. We where equipped with handmade hats, ties and baskets made by one of the employees while we where walking around. The tour includes lunch and a lot of fruit tasting. Very nice. We came home a lot wiser on spices.

Glad We Did It But Not Spectacular - It was ok. The guides are nice, it's interesting to see the spices and plants fresh. Lunch is not luxury but fine. The guys making you crowns and hats and bracelets as you walk around are going to want a tip, so be ready for that. There will be someone selling soaps and perfumes, so be ready for that. At the end there will be spices to purchase so be ready for that. The soaps, perfumes and spices can be found in Stone Town at Darajani Market and other stalls for less but if you're pressed for time, it's a nice looking selection.

Do not recommend - The spice farm experience was a poor one with this company. First of all, it was way overpriced. Secondly, the tour guide and the information he gave out, seemed very random and not very professional. He made inappropriate nationality jokes and made faces when we did not know some spices or fruits and was verbal about how is it possible certain plants we had never seen or it did not grow in cold climates. He seemed bored during the job. Quite arrogant behaviour and there hopefully are better guides. The tour was supposed to last 4-5 hours but we were back in Stone Town in a bit over 3 hours, so it felt very rushed. The spices and the garden was well kept - seemed to be only for tourism purposes, though. Fruit tasting was nice! We could eat all sorts of tropical fruits. The prices of the spice farm's soaps and spices 2-5x higher than of Stone Town's market Overall for this price and description, we were not satisfied. Probably possible to get the same tour for at least half off when bought from the spot.
