Additional Information

URBEX, or urban exploration, involves venturing into man-made edifices, typically deserted relics that used to be of relevance and activity, presently existing as vestiges of another era. An excellent illustration would be the ‘Spomeniks’ – commemorative architectures and monuments established between the 1950s and 1990s during Tito’s era of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. They were designed to pay tribute to the resistance and hardships endured during WWII. Nowadays, these monuments are dispersed throughout the nations of the erstwhile Yugoslavia. As a local travel agency deeply invested and specialized in urbex, we invite you to join us for a truly unique and alternative tour to explore a handful of these masterpieces.

Friendly, knowledgable and professional - highly recommended - We did a private guided urbex tour with Iva as guide. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. We learned more about the locations and the history of the country while being on a family friendly urbex tour. We can only recommend Swanky Travel, and hope we will be able to return and explore more places.

Amazing places around Croatia - I am staying at the hostel and with a bunch of guest we decide to make an urbex exploration and swanky offers us to plan it for us offering a guidence tour between 2 days It was awesome that two hours outside of Zagreb there's amazing monuments that tell us the history of the country And even more knowing that this 2 locations aren't touristic at all Željava underground airplane base Petrova hill abandoned monument Also the tour guide make us feel safe all the way and answer every doubt that we have about the place with fun facts as well.

Underground, abandoned, awesome... - What a trip... I am stuck in Zagreb so I decided to explore a bit and ended up booking an urbex tour with Swanky Travel. I knew that we are going underground and locations are abandoned but honesty I was not sure what to expect. It was a blast - soooo awesome and out of this world. The locations and the history are amazing and the guide was great as she explained everything along the way. Guys - if you are up to something different I highly recommend this tour 😊

Beautiful views and interesting history - We did an urban explorer day trip in mid may. The ride out was fun, lots of laughs with our group. We visited an abandoned WWII hospital tucked away in the woods and Iva gave us a lot of information about the site. The weather was really nice for an easy walk in the woods. After that we visited an abandoned monument and climbed to the top. It was an absolute cracker of a day and the 360 degree views at the top were incredible. That was the highlight of the day. You can get a gangsta goulash at the lodge there, if you stop for lunch I recommend it.

awesome day - I spent a great day on this urbex tour. Light walk in the beautiful forest to discover old partisan hospital, and then we visited really fascinating monument on Petrova Gora. The best part was an amazing view from the top of the monument (37 meters high and placed on the top of the hill. I spent the day in a great company and learned a lot. I highly recommend this tour, and I will definitely go on another tour with this agency.

This is NOT a tour. It’s a very expensive driver. Save your money and rent a car. - First off this is NOT a tour, this is a very expensive driver who picks you up and drives you to see Spomeniks. The driver was on time and friendly, but communication prior to the tour was difficult and the confirmation of the tour wasn’t received until very late. I could have let the expensive $325 drive go and not take the time to write this review, but when we asked about driving to see a very important Spomenik (“Uprising Monument nation Banija and Kordun”, which in fairness was not included on the tour) we felt we were brushed off and even lied to. We were told that the road to the monument was damaged in an earthquake in 2020. Out of my own curiosity I searched for recent pictures and many came up. When I asked the driver about this he then said it would add 3 hrs of driving (which we offered to pay for). Do you know how I know the road to the Uprising Monument nation Banija and Kordun is intact and the monument open? Because after we got back from this expensive drive, we rented a car and drove there. Interestingly enough there were other people there too. If he would’ve told me there wasn’t time, fine, but don’t tell us that the monument and road are closed. I don’t enjoy writing average to poor reviews, but this “specialized tour guide” was not even close. He was a very expensive driver who showed up in what looked like pajamas to drive us around. Save your money and rent a car, the roads in Croatia are very nice and easy to navigate.
