WOW! - The day trip from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes is worth the time investment-- about a 1.5 hour drive from city center. The views were amazing. The walk was beautiful, though being winter, a bit slippery in some places. This is best for confident walkers though no special athleticism is required. This is truly a special place and I feel grateful to have spent a day there. The guide from Petros was terrific. Knowledgeable and just an enjoyable person to spend the day with.
