- Zaanse Schans - Discover the great Dutch Windmills and make some nice pictures of it. There are 7 windmills left at the Zaanse Schans and a few are open to visit. You can visit the paint windmill (that is where Rembrandt the great Dutch artist purchased his paint), a saw mill, a spice mill and many more. Admission to the windmill park and parking costs are included in this tour. - Zaanse Schans - Learn more about the Dutch wooden shoe making and see a demonstration how they make the Dutch clogs now. There is a possibility to buy the wooden shoes, the clogs and other souvenirs in the wooden shoe factory as well. - Zaanse Schans - Possibility to see the paint windmill (that is where Rembrandt the great Dutch artist purchased his paint) or saw mill from inside. There is a possibility to buy the wooden shoes, the clogs and other souvenirs in the wooden shoe factory. See a real Dutch farm with cows and baby cows. You will get an explanation how the Henri Willig farm makes their cheese from the milk of the Jersey cows. They have an automatic milking robot and see how they milk their cows automatically. After the cows it is time to taste their special Gouda cheese. You can eat as much cheese as you want for free! There are more than 30 different types of cheese so enjoy! There is a possibility to buy the cheese and if you don’t have enough room in your suitcase you can let them ship the cheese to your country. - Volendam - Explore the nice and most famous Dutch fishing village Volendam. You can have a nice lunch in one of the best fish restaurants in town, buy very nice fresh Dutch waffles or stroll over the famous dijk and see the nice harbor of Volendam. There is also a possibility to buy some souvenirs as well.

Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour to the windmills, the countryside, a local cheese and clogs factory, and Volendam. You will visit a unique Dutch park called the Zaanse Schans, not far from Amsterdam. Here, you will find some of the most special windmills in The Netherlands, such as the paint windmill, the sawmill, the spices mill, and the peanut oil mill. Afterward, you will see how original Dutch clogs are made, with an opportunity to buy clogs/wooden shoes and souvenirs. The second stop will be at the Henri Willig farm, where you will learn how they care for their cows, see how they milk them, and even touch the baby cows. Then, you can taste more than 30 flavors of delicious Dutch cheese for free! Finally, you will visit Volendam, where you can have lunch at one of the best fish restaurants in town, buy some delightful Dutch waffles, or enjoy the charming harbor of Volendam. Great trip to see Amsterdam away from the city! - Gillio our guide was exceptional! He got us to each place and gave us lots of information, then gave us the option to explore on our own. He was friendly, professional and prompt. We loved getting off the beaten path in Amsterdam and taking a step back in the country.

Worth while Holland experience. - I enjoyed waking through the old windmills and especially liked watching a clog beeing made. At the cheese factory it was great to see the robot milking the cow. Delicious cheeses were available to taste too. The fishing village of Volendam was quaint with great food.

Lovely morning excursion outside of Amsterdam - We had a very nice morning with Gillio. We were picked up on time at 8:30; it was a clean, comfortable vehicle, and he was a good driver. Pleasant conversation as well.
Gillio got us to each location ahead of the big tours, so we were able to enjoy each stop without crowds.
The windmills were interesting, as was the clog making process. The cheese factory was also an interesting stop. We learned about their ethical cattle farming and were told how the cheese was originally made, but it would have been neat also to see how they make it now. We made purchases at each stop - there was no pressure whatsoever to buy anything - we decided to buy. While the selection was best at the stops we made, we noticed later during our time in Amsterdam that the prices were at least 10% more expensive than other places. Just an FYI if you are thinking of buying anything.
We then spent an hour on our own at Volendam, which was plenty of time to take in the sights, stroll down the streets, and sample a few items from various restaurants that we passed by. Thank you, Gillio, for a great morning!

The best day! - We had the most amazing day with Ben as our tour guide and driver. Not only was he knowledgeable about history and the sites, he was the most amazing person. We loved him! The car was pure luxury. The places he took us were so interesting. He showed us things on our private tour that the groups don’t get to see. Everyone who can should go on this tour. You won’t be disappointed.
