Highlights

Day 1: Ayers Rock Airport to Uluru

Alice Springs - As we depart from Ayers Rock (Uluru Airport), we join our guests in Yulara who have traveled from Alice Springs. Prior to joining the tour, guests boarding at the airport will need to arrange their own lunch. After that, it’s off to the Red Centre’s Aboriginal interpretive centre. This very special national park has cultural, ecological, historical, and geological significance. As we begin to comprehend the sheer size and magnificence of Uluru, we make our way towards the base, getting up close and personal to explore further. On our way to Kuniya Piti, we hear creation stories of Kuniya and Liru as we explore sacred rock art sites at Mutitjulu waterhole.

We drive around sacred sites towards Kantju Gorge, where we can admire the highest waterfall in Central Australia, an elders’ cave, and the world’s oldest pantry.

We retreat for panoramic views to witness one of the most amazing sunsets on the planet after exploring one of the world’s most impressive rocks up close and personal.

Exciting, fun, well organised - Enjoyed the 4 day camping tour of Uluru. Had a marvellous time camping under the stars, exploring so many exquisite spots of nature and having a laugh with the group! Everything was well organised from food, to sleeping arrangements. I also enjoyed the hands on experience, everyone pitched in gathering fire wood, washing dishes etc. Our tour guide, Damien was bloody awesome. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, a great chef, he was also respectful of Indigenous Peoples culture, teaching us tourists what is and isn’t culturally appropriate. He was also able to flow with the mood of the group, allowing us to travel through at a bit of a slower pace to really soak up the gorgeous scenes. So impressed with the whole experience!
