Additional Information

Join me as we explore Yoshino, located in the southern region of Nara prefecture! Immersed in natural beauty and nestled within mountains, Yoshino is a must-visit location, particularly during the striking sakura season in early to mid-April. However, beyond its seasonal charm, Yoshino also holds significant historical value, notably tied to Kukai - a 9th-century Buddhist monk, and the Southern Imperial Court of Japan from the 14th century.

A must see for Old Japan lovers - Maloud was a brilliant guide, very knowledgeable and competent. He srranged all our transport which included trains, cable car and taxi's. Lunch was at a beautiful Japanese restaurant overlooking the valley of recently bloomed cherry blossoms. We would definitely recommend this experience but please wear good runners as we walked 9 klm's downhill (defintely worth the sore calf muscles!)
