Great evening! - Weather was lovely so we sat on the top deck. Drinks and snacks very reasonable. It was a struggle to hear the tour guide at times but we still had a fab time!

Evening cruise along the River Ouse in York - Very pleasant hour long evening cruise along the river Ouse with friends which was booked a few days prior to our arrival in York.

Worthwhile - Friendly crew, nice boat, interesting if limited commentary. Thank you for turning the sun on for us and for the beautiful balmy evening.

Nice relaxing one hour... - Nice relaxing one hour cruise along the river, with interesting commentary. Enjoyed the fish and chips very much and bought a drink from the bar. A nice way to start off the evening. I took the 6pm cruise ( I had also booked the Happy hour cruise for the following evening, not realising that it is a shared cruise with the Fish and chip bookings. although advertised as two separate trips. Tried to upgrade to have the fish and chips again but crew member said they couldn't complete this request. Following day I ask at the booking stall by the castle and got sent to the ticket stall by the river. Turned out it was the same crew member from the night before - I kind of gave up and didn't take my booked cruise.) But the fish and chips cruise I did take, I enjoyed very much.

Boat view of York. - Was a nice hour boat trip; wouldn’t say it was good value but was a nice introduction to York. We did see a Kingfisher leaf the way in front of the boat which was amazing.

Relaxing cruise. Good commentary - A gentle cruise away from the heaving masses on a Saturday evening was so refreshing! Not a great deal to see but some interesting commentary on the bridges. The onboard bar serving snacks and drinks was an added bonus. Overall pleasant experience and worth the ticket price. Only downside, the choice of music was dire. Silence to enjoy the surroundings would have been preferable.

Not really a city cruise - We did the Happy Hour cruise departing at 6pm and it was not what we were expecting. We were hoping to see some of York’s landmarks and learn something about the city, but there was very little commentary. If you want a cruise seeing mainly trees and greenery with reasonably priced drinks and wave to people walking on the riverbank then this won’t disappoint. If you want to get a flavour of York and learn something then it’s best to avoid. I have recently done a cruise along the Thames in London and the guide was facing us and engaging with his audience. He put a lot of effort and humour into his commentary. This was sadly lacking on this cruise, and not helped by the fact that the guide was facing forwards and piloting the boat.

Save your money - We did the Alive after Five cruise which promises a happy hour, though drinks were nit discounted and the live commentary was only for 10 minutes out of an hour trip The rest was terrible music. We learnt very little about the city's rich heritage and this was the worst river cruise I've ever been on. You may as well hire your own and at least not have to listen to an ancient playlist!

Poor commentary. - Disappointing. Booked this for commentary but in the 1 hour we got about 5 minutes of commentary from Captain A - a) where the water in the Ouse comes from, b) the view of Minster towers and c) the Millennium bridge. Absolutely no commentary about the city itself (reason I booked). Blaring party music as well. *sigh*
