Our tour kicks off with a visit to Pickering, an ancient market town that rests on the fringes of the North York Moors National Park. From Pickering, we navigate into the heart of the National Park, known for its breathtaking expanses of heather moorland that, on a sunny day, can stretch up to 50 miles in all directions. Our next destination is Goathland, popular for being a filming location in the Heartbeat TV show. There will be a quick pit stop for you to see Goathland Station, also known as Hogsmeade in the globally acclaimed Harry Potter film series.

Shortly after, we’ll touch down in Whitby for a lunch break. This quintessential seaside town offers a myriad of dining options, with fish and chips being a local speciality. North York Moors and Whitby Day Tour from York with John. - This was a wonderful day! John was the perfect host, friendly, considerate, very informative and very easy to listen to! The places we saw were beautiful and just what we hoped for. Beautiful little villages, abbey ruins, a lovely little church, all finished off with perfect weather to explore Whitby. It will be a day that remains in my memory. Highly recommended

Fun! - Ben is an excellent guide. He made the trip fun and was very informative. The drive to the Moors was beautiful. There was also a train trip to Whitby on a Diesel train. Ben organised the train tickets and met us on the other side.

Frustrated Tourist - Can’t say that I would book this tour again. Although the scenery was amazing, the stops were short because we had to be at a train station to catch a train. There was no mention of a train ride in the tour description. And there were no seats remaining when we boarded. Then when we got to Whitby we were initially shown a map of our meeting place (in a town we know nothing about). Our guide redeemed himself by taking us there so we would be able to find it later. The main drawback is that the guide does everything-driver, commentary and guide. It would have been better if there was a separate guide & driver so the guide was available for questions/problems.
