The murder mystery... - The murder mystery treasure hunt was really fun and we had a great time following the clues and story. The directions weren’t always the most clear and that led to us briefly getting lost but we did manage to get back on track.

Great way to explore! - This was such a great activity to get you exploring a new city and learn about the history of it at the same time. The customer service team are also so helpful! Before we had even begun I was a nuisance as I couldn’t work out why I hadn’t received the initial set up message (completely my own fault) but the person I dealt with was so helpful and lovely. It really started our experience on a high and the rest did not disappoint, we even encountered some Viking’s on our way around due to festival event this weekend 😛 Would absolutely recommend this to anybody looking for a fun way to explore!

Great quirky find! - Was great! Have been to York before so had done pretty much all the main touristy things. Found this trail online and took us past some places we didn’t notice before! Great story and trail. Would recommend

Fabulous day for all ages - This was our first Secret City tour but it won’t be the last. We had such fun solving the clues and discovering parts of York we never knew existed. The pub stops were fab too and the meal at the Punchbowl was amazing (20% discount too and clean toilets). I did this tour with my grown up children as part of their birthdays. We have a day out instead of gifts. We took our time and watched the fab street entertainment too. Amazing tour, reasonable price and 12,300 steps and 13 flights of steps on the Fitbit too. Win, win!

Some surprises - We had a great time but a couple of clues may need adjusting slightly..the unnecessary red iron ( an early clue) has been painted black. Plus the alley opposite the church was very misleading as there is an adjacent alley named ate o'clock which leads to a restaurant only and the clue became very confusing afterwards. However we enjoyed the experience and saw new things 😊

Good but not great. - We have done a number of these kind of walks before but mostly in London. We really enjoy escape rooms, immersive games etc. We enjoyed this but felt it lacked some challenge. The clues involved some thought but once you’d reached each destination there was no challenge, the answer was clear. As a result the end felt a little anti-climactic as we didn’t feel we’d achieved much - other than lots of steps! It was good value and got us around the city a bit, so from that point of view it was good. Just missing a real challenge/adventure to give the sense of achievement we wanted.

Enjoyable adventure - It wasn't amazing but still really enjoyed it and would do this type of thing again in the future. There were 2 of us and we found it fairly easy which is probably a good thing because if it was too difficult we may have give up. Unfortunately we couldn't finish it because my phone died. We considered trying to contact the help number but we didn't have much time left anyway so decided to leave it. I think we were almost at the end. It would have been useful if there were some instructions beforehand of what to do if this happened. It would have helped if I had known how to transfer it to my friends phone before mine died.

Good idea needs better execution especially for price - Started ok used lots of attempts lost with correct answers because we used full title names enjoyed for first 5 or so clues in the smaller streets out the way but by the time we got so far it just got a little boring to be honest so didn’t even end up finishing it unfortunately … brilliant idea but definitely felt something was missing… bit too expensive for what it was

Having to find out way... - Having to find out way back to civilization after a terrible last clue and an abrupt end as tourists not knowing where we were on a blazing hot day with a husband who had hurt his knee climbing up and down steps Not impressed at all and not the murder mystery we were expecting very weak story not worth the money. No phone number to call just automated text messaging bad experience all round 😡
