• Hwaseong Fortress - Depart from your hotel in Seoul at 08:00 am and travel to Suwon in Gyeonggi-do province. The first stop is Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a remarkable structure from the late Joseon Dynasty and the official fortress of Suwon, Gyeonggi-do. Built between 1794 and 1796, it was constructed as a tribute to King Jeongjo’s filial devotion to his father and to establish a new pioneering city with its own economic strength.

The fortress wall features a wide array of military facilities that are unique. During its construction, scholar Jeong Yak-Yong invented the ‘Geojunggi,’ a lever system that lifted heavy stones, significantly reducing construction time.
