Starting in the heart of Yogyakarta, we cycle 5 km to the old town labyrinth. Feel the atmosphere of the historical area with the sights, sounds and smells. We’ll pass by the local shops varying from silversmiths to chocolate makers and see the archaeological buildings, unique houses, mosque and temples. Visiting the tombs of the Mataram Kingdom will be on our itinerary. Get involved in the ceremony wearing traditional clothing (optional) and meet the Sultan servants called Abdi Dalem.

Passing through the traditional market will give you a chance to try local style food and meet friendly local people. Amazing Tour - If you’re looking for a cycling adventure off the beaten path, this is the right place! I enjoyed the city tour so much. Even though I’m not a tourist and I live in Jogja, I learned so many new things and discovered places in the city that I’ve never seen before. The guides are highly knowledgeable and fun to talk with. I can wholeheartedly recommend tours with Moana - I’m sure it will be a highlight of your stay in Jogja!

Exciting Cycling in Kota Gede - Very interesting experience! This is the second tour I tried with a different place. This time cycling in small alleys, stopping at springs, markets and many other fun places. Even though it was raining, the tour was still fun. Ah yes, try some traditional food too!! Getting to know the Islamic Mataram kingdom is also included in the tour, so insightful. Thanks Moana!! 💛

The most wholesome experience! - What an amazing experience! It was lovely to cycle through narrow streets and discover hidden, magical places we definitely would have missed. We learned a lot more about local culture and interacted with the most friendly locals shopping at the traditional marked or at a traditional bakery! If you want to connect and learn more about Yogyakarta and it’s unique culture the cycle tour is definitely the most wholesome experience you could get! A big recommendation! :) Thanks again for this lovely day!!!

Best experience in Yogyakarta! - Moana is such an amazing place, it warms my heart to see people that care about sustainable tourism. You can see that they work with love and with a purpose. Everything is nice from the place where we gather, the bicycles we use, and the carefully prepared route. We cycled in very charming streets, and stopped in super authentic spots - that we wouldn’t know about them by ourselves, and where we had the chance to learn more about Indonesian culture and connect with locals. My favorite place was a local market - very colorful with smiling people and tasty food. We finished the lovely tour cooking delicious typical food! It was my best day in Yogyakarta!

Immersive Yogyakarta experience - I had such a great time on the MOANA cycling tour, such a wonderful experience. First of all the bikes were great, secondly our two guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, thirdly the tour was extremely interesting and enjoyable. Whilst touring around the colourful little streets of Yogyakarta we visited a traditional cake shop, a wonderful traditional market and finished by cooking tempe together in a joglog! I can't recommend this experience enough. If you want to get to know the real Yogyakarta then go on a MOANA cycling tour!
