• Lake Sevan - Known as the “pearl” of mountainous Armenia, Lake Sevan is one of the world’s largest high-altitude freshwater lakes, situated about 1900 meters above sea level. This volcanic lake is encircled by mountains reaching 3000 meters and higher. The stunning landscape and pristine waters provide ideal conditions for a wonderful retreat. The lake is also renowned for its peninsula and the medieval church complex built in 874.
• Monastery Sevanavank - A breathtaking view unfolds in the northwestern part of Lake Sevan, where the peninsula rises above the clear lake surface. The Sevanavank monastery was constructed on the peninsula in 874 by the order of Princess Mariam, daughter of King Ashot Bagratuni. The silhouette of the churches against the turquoise lake and blue sky leaves an indescribable impression on visitors.
• Goshavank Monastery - Founded by the renowned medieval scholar and fabulist Mkhitar Gosh, Goshavank comprises several religious and secular structures. The exceptional khachkar, placed in front of the single-nave basilica, was crafted by the talented master Poghos in 1291. Goshavank was once one of the most prominent religious and cultural centers in medieval Armenia.
• Haghartsin Monastery - Nestled in the woodlands of the Tavush region, Haghartsin monastery is a remarkable example of the harmony between nature and architecture. Established in the 10th-11th centuries, additional buildings were added in the 12th-13th centuries. It now includes the churches of St. Grigor, St. Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God), St. Stepanos, and other structures. The refectory, with its masterful architectural design, is particularly noteworthy. Near Haghartsin, a massive oak tree, nearly as old as the monastery, once grew, enhancing the scene. Although only a small part of the hollow remains today, it continues to captivate visitors and upholds the tradition that if one makes a wish while passing through the hollow, it is believed to come true soon.

On this 9-10-hour tour visit Lake Sevan, pearl of this mountainous country and one of the largest freshwater high-altitude lakes in Eurasia. You will also visit Sevanavank, a monastery complex on Sevan peninsula. Currently a religious seminary functions here, which is not readily open to the public, the peninsula can be named the very point from where the whole beauty of the Lake Sevan is seen. You will then have a short stop in Dilijan town, otherwise referred to as “Armenian Switzerland” for its fantastic natural forests. The town is a part of Dilijan National Park. The next stop is Haghartsin, a 10th century monastery which has been recently renovated by donation of Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, who was impressed by the monastery when visited it. Goshavank is the final stop surrounded by green territories.
