Stunning Location and Fascinating History! - This was probably my favourite thing I did while in Lanzarote! My day spent at the Salinas de Janubio was very worth the bus trip from Playa Blanca! (10 mins on the number 60 bus) Our guide Yurena was so friendly and informative. I learned so much about this part of Canarian culture as well as some very interesting information about the general history of the island. The salt fields themselves are truly beautiful to see. There is also some lovely bird life around the lagoon. After the tour we were brought to the salt packaging area in the visitor center too so we really got to see the entire process from start to finish. There we enjoyed a salt tasting with some complementary local wine and goats cheese. They also gifted us some beautifully packaged salt to take home! In close proximity there is a black sand beach and an excellent restaurant which are nice to visit in addition. Would definitely recommend!! :)

Delighted, in love - It was an excellent tour. And our guide Vicky was the best thing about the experience. Your patience, your love and your dedication has made us live an experience that we would like to repeat once and a thousand times. Including your patience and affection with our little “earthquake” Elias. Grateful from the heart and promise to come back soon ❤️

Well worth a visit. - We found staff very welcoming. Hubby and I had a guided tour provided by the lovely Martin who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It lasted around an hour and a half. Some bird life could be spotted in the Lagoon, we noted black necked grebes, black winged stilts and ruddy shelducks. Rare sightings of flamingos have also been spotted there. At the end of our tour, Martin provided tapas for us so we could sample the different salts on offer. Included was wine tasting also. Worth a visit when you are in Lanzarote and you should book a tour in advance.

A very lovely and educational experience - We decided to take the tour completely by chance while passing by the saltworks, and luckily we did. Two very educational and interesting hours, with a tasting of several types of salt served with local cheese and a glass of white wine from the island. Vicky made a great effort to explain everything to us in her passionate way—very knowledgeable and engaging. I truly recommend this tour if you come to Lanzarote; you definitely won’t regret it. I wish all the workers at the saltworks many more happy years together, and a big thank-you for your kindness❤️

Unique Lanzarote Experience - After finding this on the map provided by our car hire company we booked directly online for a 90 minute guided tour. Our guide, Aythamy, was very informative & engaging & we learned all about the process of extracting salt from the natural lagoon water. This is the last remaining salt producer left on the island. We walked with her (in a group of 5) around the salt flats for about an hour, got some great photos & finished with a tasting session. We tried 3 of the salts plus local cheese & wine, all excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable visit to a hidden gem & a unique Lanzarote experience

Interesting tour of the salt flats - Booked online for a tour. You walk around the flats for an hour or more. Vicky our guide spoke good English and was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the place and the way the salt is still produced today by a small team. Did you know the salt made here is free of micro plastics. After the tour is a tasting. There is a small shop to make purchases. A new building is under construction for the reception, shop, cafe and production. A fascinating visit.
