It is an ancient style building complex with a large collection of the most famous local snacks from all over the province!\n\nHere we will taste the savory Chinese hamburger - round pita bread stuffed with minced pork, and then visit the only food museum in the same area within the wall.\n\nAfter a short stroll through a park we will take a quick bus ride to the Muslim quarter, the other food marketplace in a community with a 1300 year history. ItâÂÂs not only a place of historic interest but the most colorful and bustling area, a real kaleidoscope of local life! The rest of our tour will mainly take place in this humble but richly cultural district!\n\nThese 5-6 eateries are scattered around the district, some on main streets and others tucked away in back streets, but they all cook for the locals.\n\n\nWhile visiting these food stops, you will learn a lot about the localâÂÂs lives and the family restaurants that have been making their specialties for generations.\n\nYouâÂÂll watch your food being made and learn about what makes it so special to XiâÂÂan locals. Whether itâÂÂs sitting by an old man grilling meat over burning coals or watching dumplings being made right in front of you, whether you are shredding your own pita bread for âÂÂPita Bread Soaked in Lamb SoupâÂÂ(Yangroupao) or listening to the sound of making fresh Biangbiang noodle, there are always something for you to try!\n\nThe tour will be done mainly by walking and private tuk-tuk that can only be found in the area!

Amazing food tour - Wow! Where do I begin! We explored the streets of Xi’an and the Muslim Quarter and got to try some of the most delicious foods I have ever tasted, which I wouldn’t have found on my own. I would go back to Xi’an and re-do this tour for the variety and lamb soup noodles with pita bread pieces (absolute fav). Our tour guide was the best!! Highly recommend!!

Ride the Tuktuk and taste Xi’an food - This is my second food tour in Xi’an and Buren, our tour guide took me to many places and tasted many dishes. All is good. It’s one of the best way to try the Xi’n tastes on Tuktuk.

Great way to spend evening in Xi’an - I highly recommend the tour guide Michael and lilys tours. Michael took me to several places via tuk tuk and alleys and we ordered a lot of food. All the places were good and seemed popular with locals and covered a lot of variety. Michael is a great host offering beer when available and ordering from places along the way if I pointed to something and said it looked good. I think this is a really nice way to spend a night in xi’an. I also highly recommend lily’s tours. Communication of logistics could not have been better.

Food tour with Michael Chang - I took the Tuk Tuk food tour with the wonderful Michael Chang, and it was so much fun!
He really knows his way around the markets and the city and knows the best places to try some for the food that Xi’an is famous for. The places that we went were not tourists places, which was really great.
I really enjoyed trying different things that maybe I wouldn’t know/ or try on my own.
I highly recommended to take this tour and going back home with a full and happy tummy like I did :)

Excellent food tour-- and amazing guide! - I recommend this food tour, and guide Michael, to anyone visiting Xi'an! The tour was customizable if there are specific places you want to go or things to eat. We started at the Hilton, visited a few areas and ended in the Muslim quarter at the bell tower. Michael helped us get a car back to our hotel AND he stayed in touch with us after the tour. He gave us recommendations on what to visit and where else to eat on the rest of our trip. Any tour you book with Michael will not disappoint!

Delicious Food and Great Guide - Michael took us on a food tour and it was absolutely great. We tried lots of delicious food we'd never had before, and that we would have had trouble finding without Michael. We were completely stuffed after the tour and loved all the foods we tried. Michael was a great guide- super informative, fun to talk to. We wish we'd gone to the Terra Cotta warriors with him instead of the tour guide we booked through our hotel. Overall one of the highlights of our trip!

Excellent Food Tour- A Must Do Experience - We have been on a number of food tours throughout our travels. I have to say this one was the best one We have ever done. Our guide Michael made the experience accommodate, both our tastes. One of us being a meat eater and the other being a vegetarian. The whole experience from start to finish was a true wonderful evening.

What a Great Food Tour! - Michael is an excellent guide. He is friendly, kind, and speaks fluent English. He went above and beyond to insure that our food tour in Xian was perfect. He is knowledgeable regarding the local cuisine and takes you to canteens and tiny out of the way restaurants that a traveler would never find on their own. We had so much fun while on our night food tour… from eating the local fare, zooming around in a Tuk Tuk and enjoying the company of Michael. We can’t thank Michael enough for taking us on a great food tour while we were in Xian.
