The Terracotta Army was discovered by farmers digging a water well in 1974. There are three pits containing the Terracotta Army held more than 8,000 soldiers, and also hundreds of chariots with horses and cavalry horses. The visit is about 2.5 hours. Very pleasant experience - Our time in Xian was short, but we had a wonderful time with our tour guide Kris. She was very helpful in providing all the information about the city, and very knowledgeable about the history of Xian. She was at our hotel in the morning and took us to see the Terracotta warriors, which if you are in Xian is a must. After the warriors, Kris took us to a local restaurant for lunch which was by far one of the best lunch we have had in China! Omg! Amazing noodles and pork hamburgers!! We ended our tour at the muslim quarter where she showed us around and providing information about the muslim church which was very interesting. Kris was very patient with us while we bargained for goodies around the muslim quarter and had us take our time for whatever we needed. She is an awesome tour guide and I will definitely recommend having her as your tour guide while in Xian. Thank you again Kris!
