• Yellowstone Forever - The trail from Fairy Falls to Imperial Geyser starts along the Firehole River, offering an optional visit to the Grand Prismatic Overlook. It then winds through a dense forest to a secluded waterfall and proceeds beyond the falls to one of Yellowstone’s most cherished backcountry geysers. The path retraces the same route back.

The hike from Fairy Falls to Imperial Geyser is distinctive due to its blend of easily reachable, iconic Yellowstone landmarks with a more private, fulfilling backcountry adventure. Hikers have the opportunity to admire the splendor of the Grand Prismatic Spring from an optional overlook, before swiftly moving into a peaceful forest that leads to the secluded Fairy Falls. The trail concludes at Imperial Geyser, a hidden treasure in the backcountry that is less crowded than many of the park’s roadside attractions. The “out-and-back” design of the trail allows hikers to fully enjoy the evolving landscapes on both parts of the journey.
