3 Hour Paddle

The 3-hour paddle through the West Thumb Geyser Basin starts at 8:30 AM. Participants will cover 3 miles of pristine wilderness, with chances to observe active geyser features along the route. Paddling along the shoreline offers excellent opportunities for wildlife observation. Elk are frequently seen in Grant Village, and occasionally, other mammals like bears and wolves visit the lake area. A variety of bird species are observed daily, and the water is clear enough to spot native Cutthroat Trout, which can grow as large as an arm if one is fortunate. The fish in Yellowstone Lake can reach impressive sizes.
