We will provide an overview of the route, safety briefing and a test ride to ensure that your bike is comfortable for you with the right seat height. You will then have the rest of the day to explore the local area on your bike and make stops on the way back to Wanaka. Our favourite stop is the patisserie in Albert Town

On arrival in Wanaka nzbiketrails will then pick up your bikes at the original pickup location.

Embark on an exceptional journey to witness the splendor of the environment. Your journey will lay across flatlands ensconced by mountains along easy level 1-2 trails suitable for families.
The suggested path takes you on a trail starting from Hawea, adjacent to the Hawea river, via Albert Town and continues along the Clutha river towards Wanaka.
As you progress, you’ll have the opportunity to visit intriguing sites such as Lake Hawea, Pembroke Patisserie, Wanaka, the symbolic Wanaka Tree and the picturesque Edgewater Hotel garden bar.

Must do in Wanaka - nzbiketrails was fantastic! Their bike trail did not disappoint. James was very helpful, friendly and professional.

Perfect way to see Wanaka and surrounds - Stunning, peaceful and varied terrain with the biking fun and easy. We didn’t want it to end. Great friendly service too. Highly recommended.

Fun day and fantastic scnerery - NZbiketrails were great to deal with. We booked for a 10.30am pickup through the lovely ladies at the Wanaka iSite. James was excellent and provided information about the local area and where the trail was on our way out to Lake Hawea. He explained the trail and sights along the way thoroughly. The weather was perfect and we had a great ride back to Wanaka. Would highly recommend this company.

Experience Wanaka on a bike up close and personal - We had a great afternoon following the bike trail around Lake Hawea and back into Wanaka.
The views were amazing, the ride was not boring, always something to look at.
Our guide was fantastic, picking us up on time, and giving us a great rundown about biking on the way to our ride.
Dave gave great information about the ride and the bikes.
It was a great way to spend my birthday
I would thoroughly recommend this fun thing to do when next your in Wanaka
It took about three and a half hours with a few stops, it was 36 k all up

Don't go past this one - it's a must-do - We had planned to do some wineries around Wanaka but David convinced us to do Hawea Lake to Wanaka and thank god he did. We have had the best day we've had in a while. There were moments on the ride when I thought "I don't think been somewhere as beautiful as this before". It was beyond words and I'm already thinking about when I can bring my parents, brothers, and nephews here so they can experience it too.
The bikes worked perfectly, the trail was in great condition, the restaurant David recommended (Hook) was great... I could go on.
I can't recommend this ride and this ride via nzbiketrails enough.

A great way to see lake Wanaka - We had a great day and it was an easy, very enjoyable ride. It was really well organised. The views were outstanding and there were lots of photo opportunities. We loved the fact that we could ride at our own pace and could stop wherever we liked.

Wonderful experience if you’re a confident biker - Amazing view and cool bike! Overall It was a great experience although it turned out to be very different than what I thought it would be. First of all, I’m not a biker - my biking experiences consist solely of city-bikes riding and I’m not exactly a confident rider. I was expecting an easy chilled riding around the lake but this was some real adventure with a serious heavy mountain bike! I found it to be a little bit scary and difficult for first timers. At some point I fell off the bike and decided to finish early but overall I’m glad I did it and enjoyed the wonderful view. The guide was very professional and helpful. A great way to explore Wanaka if you enjoy biking.

Lovely day ride experience - This was a great family activity and we enjoyed being able to go at our own pace.
our first experience of e-bikes. These were good quality and enabled our daughter to enjoy the ride as well.
A couple of places it was a bit unclear which way to go so signposting could be a little better (we didn’t get lost but another couple on the same tour did).
We had excellent weather. We were glad we did the 10.30 and not 12.30 as we might have struggled to finish in time.
The patisserie in Albert Town was a great place to stop for our lunch.
We had time when we got back to the start to do a quick ride to the Wanaka Tree for a photo opp.

Very nice bike tour around Wanaka - Very nice bike tour around Wanaka (Hawea and Clutha rivers)
VERY GOOD almost NEW bikes, this tour is suitable for everyone who can ride a bicycle.
Weather was cold, but clear skies.
(Unfortunately the recommended patisserie was already closed upon arrival, but we visited this shop one day later and was indeed very good)
On arrival in Wanaka for our bookede tour it was not 100% clear where to respond to join the tour due to the moving van with bikes on a trailer what has no fixed place as starting point.
Since there is no office, suggestion to make arrangements with a local store so your customers can have a fixed known adress to respond.
